I have lost count of all of the dogs that come in through our house... I know the first ever dog I had was...

Ohh year a WhippetXLurcher called scooby... Still got her! She is 8 bless'er!

SO what was the first dog you ever had? :

Of my own? Digit...he's 3 now and all mine

have lived with other people's dogs before, but Dij is the first who's been properly mine

my very first dog of my own was a little sheltie named angel, she was a dreadful chicken killer at ours and we had many running loose at ours as well as my both sets of grandparents whom land bordered ours either side, so she had to go :( she went to a friend of my dads who was a chicken farmer (w00t) and never killed another (w00t)

Lucky, the next was a cross bred gsd from my uncles bitch( she was a super girl kc reg etc and the local mangy roaming mutt got to her even though we lived a mile away from village :b ) and she was about 8 when she had an accident and had to be pts :(

then i had a riding accident was severe facial injuries leading to plastic surgery and reconstruction work and id given up trying to get better so my mums JRT had pups and i was helping care for the runt , i was told if i strted to get better i could have her , so i did and spent 19 yrs with her , my holly

then came a homebred again , a lurcher named tado who my jessie is sooooooooo like , and he was my brindle lurcher , saluki/whippet x collie grey , very promising til the day he lost sight of my when i nipped in a friends house , the window was loose and he pushed down climbed out and whilst looking for me was killed instantly :(

although we laways had running dogs and terriers , along with the gsd yard dogs these are the early special personal ones of mine

my list could go on and on with the rescues etc :p

My first very own dog was a black and white Lhasa Apso called Whiskey ,she was a breeders throw out and 3 yrs old when I had her I was about 10 ,she made it to 16 before dying in her sleep  ,mum had always had a couple of poodles as pets and siamese cats.

My 2nd dog was an Irish Setter bitch Kelly ,I brought her when I started work as a vet nurse at 16, beautiful girl and gave me the showing bug , she died of a kidney problem when she was 11.

I went on to have a few more Lhasa's which took me to crufts and I bred a Champion bitch.

Lillibet

My first dog was Scruffy, a sheepdog corgi cross who came to us as a rescue, i think i was about 11, my parents had a garage and he would quite often jump in people s cars and refuse to get out. a real character. I was away in the police and came home one weekend and he had been hit by a car

I then had a couple of Border Terriers who were real characters, Spike used to come to work with me in the Panda! He got run over when he was 6 and real hard emotional time for me. Still not over it and that was 15 years ago.

Due to having hassle off the gypsies along came Duke a really grand Dobermann and my gran who was really unsteady used to use him for her balance, he would walk alongside her all the time.

Then i got my whips. and my life has gone down hill eversince :p

my mum rescued cindy when we were all kids, she was a black mongrel and was a fantastic girl..when i moved in with my hub we had ruby, a whippet cross..a friend of mine found her wandering along the road as she was coming to work so she brought her into the factory and i took one look at her and fell instantly in love  she lived for 12 years...she was beautiful...

talulla

she is my first dog and will always be extra special x

i was never allowed a pet as a child so when i married guess what was first on the list, not a 3 piece suite but a dog (w00t)

lucy a little black mongrel was my first ever pet  :huggles: and she gave us 12 happy years, then the day came when she got a lump which we had removed but it came back bigger and nastier :( she soon went down hill and had her pts due to heart failure :( gods i still miss her.

then we found a whippet cross in our street and she was living,so i decided to take her in and see how she went been indoors, well i dont think she looked back

she was such a beautiful girl and so gentle  :huggles: she gave us 14 happy years with her and was pts after suffering 4 strokes the last one she never got up again :( will always miss our sandy.

Our first dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Frisk, he was a gorgeous dog and was given to my mam by dads boss who was moving away to Australia and couldn't take Frisk with her. I cant really remember much about him except that he kept having strokes and went blind and deaf so he was pts. Was first time i saw my mam really upset. :(

Next came along benji, he was a ginger dog who looked a cross between a collie and a retriever but later we found he was a "Duck Tolling Retriever!!" we got him at a dog pound which was filthy and horrible but we brought him to health and happiness and he was pts last year aged 19! we had him 15years!! He was a character, used to live with gran when we went on hols but would often get out and come home! still miss him terribly.

Now weve got Buster and to say hes a character is an under statement!!! hes a staffy x and very lovable but often sits on the sofa looking like an old man proping up a bar! We all love him and hes slotted into our life just perfect!
