Hi All Just need cheering up a bit.Have been to hospital today I need my gallstones removing, the hospital FORGOT about me. I have been waiting for 10 months for the operation they just kept sending me new appointments and cancelling the original one :( Anyway when I turned up today for my appointment 10 months later they were very alarmed and shocked I had had to wait so long. They sent me along for my pre op assessment and guess what ,I had a pre op assessment in Augest 08 they had everything set up ready for me just forgot my operation. They are going to phone me tomorrow with a date for my operation,I wouldn't mind but it's been agony, gallstones are very painfull and iv'e been on high dose painkillers and morphine all this time, anyway thanks for reading i feel better just telling someone :)

A very sore Liz xxx

That's terrible!!!!! You poor thing!!

Good luck with the op and I do hope you can get back to a pain-free life afterwards  :luck:

At least you know that your op will be soon now..........hope it all goes well and you are feeling better soon.

Advice for anyone else waiting patiently............When you phone to ask about an appointment that you are waiting on,ask the name of the person who answers in the appointments department and if you need to phone back, ask for them by name every time and be pleasant to them every time, this person will get to know you as a 'nice customer' and may try that little bit more enthusiastically to sort you out ;)

let's hope you get an op date really soon, good luck !

I know what it feels like, my gallstones got so big they stoped my gallbladder working, it became infected and burst. I nearly died, i had an 8 hour operation and had stitches from my ribs to my groin. It took me 3 months to get over the operation as they cut through all my stomach muscles.

I hope they get you in soon.

all the best

You poor thing, I hope it all goes smoothly for you xxx Big gentle hugs for you xxx

I can sympathise with you, gallstones are agony, I had my GB removed a few years ago and what a relief :sweating: hope you get sorted soon :luck: :luck:

POOR YOU IT'S AGONY I KNOW WE WERE ON THE WAY TO TOUR THE MOUNTAINS IN SPAIN STOPPED OF IN CHEPSTOW TO VISIT FRIENDS AND GOT NO FURTHER ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL FOR 10 DAYS

Well here is something to cheer you up. Yes I know gallstones are agony, I had my galbladder removed in 1989, before they did keyhole surgery, and I have a 'zip' across my stomach where I had 24 staples.

So the good news for you is that now they have realised they have kept you waiting, you should be in soon! The op will be done keyhole, so not the 10 days you used to have in hospital - AND the best news ever is that you can eat anything you like when you get home - no watching the amount of fat! When I got home I had chinese curry - mmmmmm it was delish. I have never had another problem since - so keep your chin up, the end of those horrid gallstones is in sight. Good luck for your op, let us know how you get on  :luck:

Just know how u feeling, had my gall bladder out on the 29th of Dec last year, had key hole but didnt take notice of the advice NOTto do the horses and ended up getting infected, work were EVER so good and made me go back 2 weeks after the op even though u could put 2 fingers through the one which had gone bad. Went off on stress then LOL

Excellent op, didnt realise anything had happened other than feeling bit winded. Keep on at them!!

Thank you all :D , youv'e made me feel loads better, have now got my opp date 8th October so i will be looking forward to eating whatever i like after that date as i have lost over two stones (in weight) and still counting. Once again Thank You ALL you are true stars :)
