why are the dogs always shown before the bitches has it always been this way or do some shows do the bitches first?

When there is one judge dogs always start first. If there are 2 judges dogs normally start first but occasionally bitches will start first(Midland Whippet/Whippet Club of Wales).

As I understand it the reason for dogs to be first is there could have been a bitch coming in/in/coming out of season which for obvious reasons would put dogs at a disadvantage.

Yes I always thought it was to stop the Dogs from scenting the bitches and being distracted by them

i hardly do open shows now with the boys because they are usually mixed classes and my lads have a one tracked mind, they have even snapped show leads trying to aquaint themselves with the girls :angry:

i'm hoping i can do a few more this year now i have a lass to show
