There is an amazing circus on in London in the new year -Cirque de Soleil - the most amazing show I have ever seen, nothing like the big tops you get visiting towns etc. They are a Canadian company and the show is accompanied by singing throughout and tells a story (can't remember the theme of this show). The artists are out of this world.

that sounds like fun, i will look into it........thanks :huggles:

How about hiring a helicopter and fly all over your favourite haunts.

Should cost about £150 upwards for 1/2 an hour - you'll be surprised how long 30 mins can be & how far you can travel in that time too.

Boo got me one for my 40th, and I said sod it, let's make it an hour.

Was buzzing for a week afterwards - the most amazing feeling, not at all like normal flying in a plane (hate flying!) and the weirdness of flying sideways across the airfield.

You could pick him up a 2nd field/dirt bike for around that price

The other thing that came to mind thinking of that time of year is

Manchester bike show:

http://www.bikeshowseurope.com/manchester%2008.htm

The entry price is fairly modest.

which would leave you plenty to spare for other wee surprises

and maybe nice meal and overnight stay in hotel while your in Manchester...

where you could employ a few of the other suggestions mentioned here :b .
