Yesterday on her walk Ellie colapsed, she seemed to be paralysed, and could not move. She has been in the vets overnight on a drip, and I have seen her this morning, the vet thinks she has neurological damage poss to her spinal cord.

Has anyone had any experience of this, if so advice needed.

She has managed to sit up this morning, and can stand breifly before her back legs go, but she has no relex responses in her back legs and tail.

Poor Ellie, hope she recovers soon! :luck:

Has your vet suggested what it could be? Does she seem to be in pain? Was she in pain when it happened? And did it happen during vigorous exercise?

Nope gentle lead walk, Vet says cant tell if she is in pain or not, vet thinks may be spinal cord problems, blood test have all come back ok, apart from slightly raised white cell count. They are keeping her in till monday, to assess then may refer for MRI scan. When she collapsed she just lay there on her side not moving, one min, we were walking, next min she was lying on floor.

You poor souls, what a frightening thing to happen. Let us know how she gets on - thinking of you both. :luck:

How awful, hope she picks up soon :luck:

Sounds very odd how it just seems to have come on for no reason, you could understand it being spinal if she'd been running or something at the time.

Really hope she picks up soon :luck:

Thank you for all your replies.

Ellie is a lot better this morning, vet is pleased cos she managed a poo, which shows her muscles are working, still worse on right side than left, but vet starting to think may be circulatory problems. Plus her heart rate is way too fast. They are keeping her in again, but say if she continues to improve, I can poss pick her up tomorrow night. So fingers crossed.

Fingers and toes crossed for you for picking her up soon. :luck: :luck:
