:( Jim was out on Sunday night with Moucher and Honey our wheaten x whippet got injured.

They rushed her to the vet and after xrays,it was discovered she has broken most of the bones in her lower back leg and her paw.

We got her home last night and despite her injury she is in good form.

It's going to take 4wks before we'll know if it's going to heal properly so fingers crossed :luck:

yes john she was chasing a rabbit, they go there lampin all the time but they have ropes  everywhere now it was just an unfortunate accident.

Not sure if you go there or not just be careful if you do, they'll be sticking to the fields from now on.

It's always a risk isn't it? Poor Honey, I wish her a speedy recovery, she looks so sweet with her hairy little face. :huggles:

Oh, she's so beautiful. Good luck to her for a full and speedy recovery. Just noticed she has a plastic bag on, we had to use one for our boy when his foot was bandaged. Don't forget to take it off indoors though, as it will make the skin sweat inside the dressing  Keep us updated with her progress :luck:

This time of the year any ground at golf courses thats been damaged due to adverse weather and general usage they always rope it off. Its called then G.U.R. ground under repair. Under no circumstances is anyone allowed onto it. You have to lift your ball clear of it. Poor dogs dont know this though. Have to say Lyn i dont like running mine on Golf courses since Colt ran into a staked tree...on the fairways its wide open but soon as the rabbit runs off it its wayyyy to risky !

good luck and see ya soon. might get down to see the pointy puplets

oh so sorry had to read it twice thought it said lower back broken thats what happened to one of my pups.I know what your going through so my hopes are with you fingers and everything else crossed. :luck:

Happy New Year to you also, Honey is getting on well with her injury she's still in her usual playful self.

We're just hoping that the leg starts to heal, cos the vet has told us that she'll need it amputated if it doesn't.

She's back to the vet on Monday night so we'll have a better idea then :luck:

I'll let you know how she gets on

her bone broke through the skin and caused an infection so she had to go back in and have it pinned. they said it was the hardest point to mend but shes now made a full recovery. shes got a slight limp after exercise now, but shes still a looney!!

Infact the other day she jumped barbed wire in a field and was back in to be stitched up. acidents happen its how we deal with them that matter.

I dont know how beneficial it is but we was reccomended to use lactol puppy milk to help thecalcium build up, just a thought. hope she gets better real soon

I nearly cried when i first saw her like this :'(
