Some policies are very cheap but don't offer great cover and have certain conditions i.e. will only pay out x amount on the same illness - it's important to read the small print really carefully.

I was with Pet Plan, it was a good policy but expensive and the excess was £90 - I changed to the Halifax, it was almost half the price, the policy is actually better, with more cover, and the excess is only £50. I have had 2 claims from them in the last 6 months and had no problems at all.
