For fun runabouts with the dogs I throw tennis balls & the odd dummy. We have just returned from a walk & yet again a missing ball. I searched & the dogs did "go find" to no avail :( totally vanished. The cows & horse in the field can be declared not guilty, their retrieving is :clown: I just wondered whether there's a black hole where these things disappear into or even  who likes to tease :teehee: Maybe they travel even further :alien: Any ideas??

Yes I know what you mean, we go through them at an astonishing rate. I have even taken to buying really brightly coloured balls, and they STILL vanish. What I find even more peculiar is the way they suddenly reappear a few weeks later just wheere you thought that you had looked in the first place

I think I know because every time we go to the field we find a ball so I think the answer must be that WE HAVE THEM ALL.

Jenny

Don't worry, the black hole will soon be unable to swallow any more balls ....... it'll be too full WITH ALL MY SOCKS!

another annoying thing though, when you think youve lost one of their toys, and buy another only to find the other one turns up when you get home.

I couldnt find our rope and ball for weeks on end, so bought another at Pets at Home, only to find the other one the next day hidden under a bush in the garden. :- "

and Yes Oscar keeps on finding lost tennis balls and golf balls all over on our walks.

Haven't found any socks yet, they could be with my socks & the odd lost slipper  How big is this black hole?

Right, at the entrance to the field is a tree with a bit of a hollowed out trunk, we put all the found balls in there (my idea) and then if we lose one we have a look next time or simply borrow whatever is there, so feel free to borrow one next time you're our way. We haven't been raided yet by the local kids which is amazing really- I expect it's the mousetrap we have hidden in there that puts them off. (Only joking)

Jenny, who has plenty of balls.

I was just working out whether it would possibly be cheaper to buy new balls or to collect 1 of you're spares (these people who boast about how many balls they have!!!!!!!!!) 2 hour drive & diesel at a million pounds a gallon(oops litre)could be a possibility, I wasn't very good at maths. If you aren't really using a mouse trap, are there any trip wires or booby traps to be aware of?

I'm always finding tennis balls too. Or at least Ziggy is. Obviously there are worm holes connecting the places where they go missing to the places they are always getting found. Sorry Urchin, haven't found any of your socks. They are probably wherever ours go to
