Italian Greyhound Lure Coursing

and i thought they were bungalow living lap dogs for the blue rinse brigade? how wrong eh (w00t)

oi! i may have blue streaks somewhere left in my hair but aint no blue rinse! and my bungalow is very modern lol! or is it me they call the bungalow??? (w00t) wait til you see my boy!!! dont let lampy hear you diss him!!! :D

A couple of years ago when I was after some photos of lure coursing for a Whippet Breed Stand, I took Charlie and Jack with me up to Chorley, Mark Roberts country. Initially, we just took them for the day out but at the end of the Whippet coursing, Jack and Charlie had a go. Jack went so far, but then decided the hedgebottom was more like the real thing.

But Charlie, just coursed and coursed and coursed. :D He did 5 courses in all, I think and would still be going today I'm sure. I thought then that it would be something that we could do, but haven't got the foggiest idea of how many people would be interested.

I'm sure if we asked Mark, he could give us some advice. It's such a natural use of their talents.

Mind you, I'm sure some Iggie owners would disagree, thinking we're totally nuts. But if your Iggie is fit and healthy then I see no reason why it shouldn't be fun.

im sure i would have a go with mine , def something worth thinking about jan?

Well I must admit i'd always been of the thinking that IG's were just lap dogs, but Jan's 2 certainly opened my eyes they were keen as mustard for the lure and I think the bag swopped for a bit of rabbit skin would work wonders on the hedge hunter LOL

nice meeting you again Jan (at Crufts) if anyones interested in doing some lure coursing with the IG's get together give me a shout and i'll bring the gear down and have a weekend away (in caravan)

so come on who wants to lure course/race their IG's.

you are all welcome here anytime , you know that , but be warned last time we had k9 weekend it bloomin rained the whole time!!!!

be good if other italian owners would also come and have a go too, maybe we could see how this goes and then perhap do another for charity?

come on you lot get your names down!

think tink and todd will also have to come coz they only dinky too, what you reckon hannah? im sure paula would let little honourary iggie have a go too :D

Put my name down for an IG lure coursing meeting!

Normie has been Afghan racing and lure coursing and he is far better than my Whippets! :clown:

Liz and the Monellis

I must admit I'd love to see Lottie and Zoomie course a lure and they'd go wappy to chase something for fun!! :p

They're both strong as oxes and as up for a chase as any of my whippies (w00t)

:( But I just live too far away and with the other dogs can't get away very often. Maybe next year if we're down for a show or something - where about is the lure set-up???
