Is this definite info Hannah?

Yep it's copied and pasted from my email from Paul :D ......I personally like the extra group being added to the 8 year olds as I've seen what my lard ass Jacob does to the dogs on the lure  ....and at 27lbs - 30lbs :b he would do serious damage to a much smaller, old dog  .....

I don't think the owners of the dogs off the front of the groups are the ones complaining. If for example you had a 32lb eight year old running against a 23lb nine year old, the lighter dog would get five and a half yards start.

The point about the WCRA getting its own website has already been done, its : www.thewhippetclub.com. Go to the racing section to find results, fixtures, previous winners etc. Maybe this would be a good place to keep everyone informed of news and any changes. ;)

5. New Weight Groups

The following weight groups are to be run in 2008 for the 8 years olds; there is no change to the 6-7 years.

Old weight groups                                    N/E 22LBS              N/E 32LBS

New weight groups for 2008              14-19lbs          20-25lbs        26-32lbs

When did you get that one Hannah. Is there another one I've not had? It says the exact opposite of the one I cut and pasted direct from the 22nd November secretaries letter which Sue forwarded to me -

How weird is that! Did you get yours recently? And which one is right?

Not that I'm complaining. If the email you got from Paul is right then I'd much prefer them to leave it at 4 weight groups for the 6&7 years and add an extra one to the 8yrs & over :D Maybe they just got it the wrong way round in the secretaries letter. Hope so.

This has been copied and pasted from my Novembers secs letter ......Its not hand typed, so unless Paul has too much time on his hands, hand typing each letter personally (w00t) , I would have thought they all would of said exactly the same thing

So there are two different copies going around then. I noticed that the copy of the letter sent to the other secretaries didn't have your name on the list of people it was being sent to in the header Hannah - it was sent to Kath Roseblade as they have her down as secretary of the Cotwolds. Her name appeared on the list of secretaries that came with that letter too, so maybe you did get a different one! Maybe you got the first draft or something, or all the other secretaries did. So we still don't know which on is right. I hope yours is

Think I've solved the mystery having spoken to a couple of secretaries of other clubs. It seems there were two versions of the letter sent out, but the correct version is the revised one that Hannah got sent later on. -

No change to the 6-7 years (so presumably still 4 weight groups) and 1 extra weight group in the 8 years and over (so 3 weight groups now) :D
