Thank goodness Izzy is now getting the correct assessment

Good luck to your little girl :luck: :luck: and I do hope that you get a

definitive diagnosis tomorrow so that she can start treatment and get

back to normal again

Izzy came home from Animal Health Trust on Tuesday. She has been away from home for 10 of the last 12 nights.

She has had nearly every test possible - MRI, spinal tap, 2 x ultrasound, 3 x xrays, blood tests, urine tests and more. All have been clear and no diagnosis has been 100% confirmed. She is being treated as if it is Meningitis which is what they suspect.

She was still weak when we collected her on Tuesday but better than when she went in. She is on a course of steroids reducing in dose over 14 weeks. They are having a remarkable effect and today she is almost her old self, playing with toys and looking very happy. Two days ago she could hardly move her neck without yelping, now she can chew tail with ease.

Hopefully she is on the road to full recovery. Thanks for all your replies.

Good Luck Little Izzy - I hope the treatments work really quickly for her

Hooray that she is getting better but it is a bit worrying that you haven't had a definite diagnosis. I have heard of this happening to someone else. Did they say why the still thought it was meningitis in spite of the negative spinal tap? (please pm me if you don't want to prolong this on the list although I think it could be useful for others to know).
