 digital or film?
Elizabeth

digital - apparently he's using a Nikon D70 in Aperture Priority Mode with a 105-300mm G-fit Zoom lens, that pic around 500th at F4.5

If that means anything to you  cos I'm a bit thick when it comes to technology.

Yup, sounds expensive (w00t) See short discussion on BSFA thread about the need for a digital SLR! Seriously, it is difficult to get action pics with a camera with no manual control, don't despair folks, you're not doing anything wrong, most cameras aren't up to it!

Ooohh thanks for that detail Helen. That's quite a wide aperture hence the shallow depth of field. Really good choice I think for this shot. I've been looking at the Nikon, but have been leaning towards the Canon SLR's. May change my mind on the strength of this picture!

I have no idea what most of this conversation means, but I love the photo

It is an excellent photo, I did wonder if it was a new camera ;) . There will be no stopping Adrian now, bet he is chuffed to bits with all the positive comments. Get him to take another with all of the tail in next time and get it framed

GREAT photo of Josie Helen she is a gorgeous girl  Wish I could take photos like that.

She looks so happy and healthy :huggles:

I never even noticed that all her tail wasn't in :D

You need to learn the gentle art of photo retouching ;) Sorry, just a quick try!

(w00t) that looks so funny! Very good. Can I have bit of extra length please? ;)

That is brilliant! I wonder if you could make me lookk about 3 stone lighter and 20 years younger using that technique :D

Don't be taken in by all those glossy mags, most of the models probably HAVE had 3 stone and several years taken off them digitally - that's why the rest of us look so rubbish in comparison! Yes, I'd love do the same to myself, but oddly I'm the only thing my OH never points the camera at; hmmn, perhaps he's afraid it'd break it

Elizabeth, I sent your re-touched pic to OH and he rose to the challenge - adding souped-up teeth and go-fasterness (w00t) lol!

Like the 'go-fasterness'

Sorry about the tail comment. Got carried away as usual. Been to too many competition nights at my local camera club. Sooo competetive, but fun. I haven't entered any of my photos yet, I hasten to add, as they are not of a high enough standard.

I did get excited when I saw your OH's photo of Josie though, because the quality really stood out.

See...getting carried away again :- " Hope he's going to post some more now he's given us a taster. :teehee:

I do not profess to be an expert, just offer an opinion. :b

I think it's a cracking shot. I agree that it could have been cropped better, I think Nicola had a fair comment about the tail, also it could have been cropped a little more from the bottom (IMO). Still gave it a 5!

Glad that it's not up against mine! :b

Look forward to seeing more shots.

Scott.

Cor, thanks guys - he'll be thrilled  :b

What a great Josie shot  .......Even if himself did take it lol
