Here are the balls i told you about Geoff, :lol: take no notice of the little black bits, they are felt.

As anybody ever seen any thing like these before? and do you know what they were used for???

Simplest solution is usually always the case I think they came about from Victorian times when they had gazing balls which were mirrored spheres that were supposed to stop witches coming onto a property. I recon decorative versions came from this. They're quite pretty, George Meekin has a pair of huge ones but they're plain white.

Something tells me George will be asking me what am I doing telling everyone on k9 he's got a pair of huge white balls! (w00t)

Just wondering Jac and Di what size the balls are cos they would have to be pretty big wouldn't they to scare witches off? If you come out with a measurement to the nearest millimetre mind Jac, will know that you've been there with the tape measure!! o
