:p I would like your thoughts on this one, the four's and against.

If some one was to use a kick board at a lurcher show, do you think the organisers would let them, and if not, why not ????? Diane.

NO NO AND DEFO NO !! keep kick boards for non-ped trap racing, surely your winding us di ? (w00t) (w00t)

theyre starting blocks for dogs, ramps that go into traps to let dogs get catapulting out. i dont see how you could use them on a starting line anyhow.

:( Wasn't trying to start anything here John, kick boards are new to me, :b , i just wondered if any one had thought about it. ;) if they have they aren't saying so, but at least one person, Devonmaid has learnt what one is.  Di.

Thats right i totally agree with you, they would not work without a trap you could not use one on a lurcher starting line, i'm trying to picture it now and no it defo wouldn't work. What made you think of that Dianne?. Clare x

:) Hi Clare, i was picturing a kick board with slightly higher side's and back that you could back your dogs into, but keeping the dogs front feet on the line, the same as the other dogs. only a thought, i know it would never happen. Diane.

:) Geoff Fletcher was kind enough to give me a kick board at Cullompton recently, here what it looks like, Tish. Di.

thanks for showing that pic di. now i know what i need to make and what angle.

just noticed the show it worcester, maybe see ya there..BUT LEAVE YOUR KICKBOARD :D

it would work with out a trap as long as ur dog is calm.

cant see it would be a problem as long as the dogs feet are behind the start line

Joe

 Thanks Joe, that's what i was thinking, but it would have to have higher side's and back. I won't be turning up at a lurcher show with one, but i have seen the difference it makes in the dogs speed coming out of a trap when they do use one, and how much slower they are with out one. ;) Di.

:p Hi John, when making one you have to remember that not all traps are the same width, and you have to fine the right angle for your dog. Some of the smaller dogs have a very steep slope on them, it all depends on what your dog runs better with. The one Geoff gave me is about the right slope to start a young dog or puppy on.

We are going to Worcester, it's a lovely show, with racing, coursing and showing and every body is so nice, Steve and i went last year and loved it, also this is the club that little Leia is joining so she can run as a non ped next year. :teehee:

I have made a kick board for Leia, with her name on it, will put some picture's up later, had great fun painting it and making it, you can really personalise your own board. (w00t)

Might see you at Worcester then, (WITH OUT MY KICK BOARD)   Di.

(w00t) Here is my kick board that I've made for Leia, it's not finished yet i have to put the rubber or carpet on the top yet. :- "

If Geoff is reading this THANK YOU very much for the one you gave me, but as it's Leia first time at coming into the non ped scene i thought i would make one of her own, i will return the one you gave me next time i see you. Diane.

Now some picture's of the board, before and in the process. :teehee:

Your a quick learner Diane

And don't forget the Axminster

 Forgot to say the 2 pieces of wood that clip to the sides are for the extra width i will need when using it in the greyhound traps at Helston. ;)

magic job diane  and best of luck with her

Di

I use a kickboard when hand slipping my Non Peds that have been injured just make it bigger i.e.wider and longer and when you slip put your foot behind it to stop it kicking back.

No I will not be slipping or using one and NO ONE ELSE will be at the Worcester lurcher show

John you are always welcome at Worcester if you need directions pm me,

regards

 Thanks Amanda, so it has been used before, this is what i was really trying to find out, and i didn't think of one being bigger or wider, we will be at your show really looking forward to it. Diane.

 One more question, i know this should be on the non ped site but I'll ask any way, is there any body who run their dogs at non ped who doesn't use one, or do they all, hope this make sense. :teehee:
