Lets get it right !!! A whippet shouldn't be more than 32lb!! If you have one of these dogs that are 55lb.. then race them with Greyhounds !! Come on !! there have been lighter dogs won the Waterloo Cup and the Greyhound Derby !! I've heard nonsense about having to go to Greyhounds to improve the "gene pool"... What a load of crap !! We go to the Greyhound looking for that holy grail.. a dog the size of a whippet with the speed of a greyhound ! If you realy want to expand the gene pool, goto a Pedigree Whippet !!! Oh No.. that won't do !! It'll bring the speed down !! Whippets should be from around 16lb to 32 lb.......the rest should be culled !!!
Cheers.
Obviously by your comments that dogs exceeding the handicap weight should be culled shows you have no understanding of genetics or the need for a diverse genetic gene pool. Something which is slowly occuring within the pedigree gene pool already as defects and longevity are recently becoming issues.
There may be a time when non-peds are approached to bring their blood back into KC peds again, just like it did after the war when numbers were limited and their gene pool was decreasing.
The fact you hunted for a post in the past where you would of clearly seen there was differing opinions on kickboards yet decided to trawl it up and now your bringing up another ''debate'' clearly shows some desperation for you to cause some grief on the non-ped forum.
can always rely on you jac lol well put
