I helped out at one of the local dog clubs at their annual show today. As some of you might know, every dog receives a written critique at shows here in Scandinavia, and I was "lucky" enough to write down what the judge said. It was cold and raining, and neither the single attending Afghan or the 9 whippets entered looked their best.

Nevertheless, as the weather cleared up, I was inspired to do some early show training with my own pup when I came home, and, of course, we felt the need to document it with an old, very slow digital camera that is threatening to break down at any moment. Was it successful? You be the judge :- "

First we tried baiting with a tennis ball...

Then with a piece of dried liver...

Guille: "I think I might back out of this whole showing thing"

Bardmand: "What if we make it appear I'm strangling you, Guille, will that make you stand pretty?"

Hmpf!! Just because you can get your four-week-old puppies to stack perfectly and photograph them at the same time, there is no need to be rubbing it in the faces of us mortals

Ah, well, we have plenty of time to practice (and we're gonna need it!)

BTW, your weedkillers are almost as gorgeous as mine is, Malin!

Regardless of whether she got it together or not ... she is still a very pretty puppy :*

Yep, lovely puppy, the best shot is the one where you are doing no training :b

Guille says to thank you, she thinks so too ;)

About her breeding, this is from another thread:

She is from Hjortronblomma, sired by Carry On Pastrami (who some might know as the sire of Adagio Love Supreme) out of Hjortronblommas Gin Kelly.
Pictures and pedigree are on the breeders' website. Here is a link to the puppies' page in case your Swedish is not that good  ;) BTW, Birkonbrae True E'Nuff and B. Sweet Talking Guy are full brothers.

The picture of Guille with blue flowers is very nice indeed. It is not a show pose but she has a lovely alert expression :huggles:

Well, three weeks later, a show lead, some ham, some nice weather, and a camera that is a bit faster and can shoot series - we are finally getting somewhere...

And look how she has grown!

She looks a little stunner, a real mini show dog :D

She's coming on really nicely!!
