We are giving our puppy (9wks) kongs stuffed with dog food (dry food), treats, and, now she has got the idea we are also putting a bit of peanut butter or banana in there as well. We are trying out a few things to see what she likes/can eat.

Does anyone have any advice on how best to stuff the kongs? She can really only get to the first little bit of the Kong, but I can't figure out how to stuff a Kong without it all getting squished down.

Also how do you clean the kongs? I have tried tea-spoons and skewers to scrape the insides out, and cloth covered finger and water but none of these seem particularly effective!

We are using 1 'puppy kong' and the red kong which I think is a 'classic'.

I keep meaning to buy a bottle brush (the kind home brewers use). But I posted mainly to say be careful what type of peanut butter you use. Some contain an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs.

Thanks Joanne, I have seen that we should look out for Xylitol which is not listed on the ingredients of the one we chose.

They do sell a filler called Kong Stuff n paste or something like that. I think there is a puppy version. I just wash mine with lots of hot soapy water. If you google Kong recipes it might come up with some home made recipes. You can freeze them too.
