well it had been a long season with many twist's and turns in racing as a whole, but last night we concentrated on our club end of 2009 presentations.
it had been a good season on the whole like a lot of other clubs a few more keen racers wouldn't go a miss but on the whole we have a good bunch at the Lancashire willing to get stuck in and help set up/put away and do jobs on race days which is what every club needs.
A personal thank you to Rod Gaunt who turns out on non race days to help me keep the traps/lure ect in good working order and to Russ, Gemma, Geordie, Beaker who spend most weeks doing a job (lure/traps ect) as well as running their own dogs.
anyway onto the results,
The Main top ten this year was a mainly 2 dog battle all the way from the start with Parkstone Sweet Liberty (lightweight) and Dukes Pride (heavyweight) swopping top spot on an almost weekly basis but it was the later who cam out on top after a long season he stuck to his task every week nearly always running of the back due to his weight (on scale weight weeks) and the club hcp, this dog never faultered and week in week out he gave upto 12yds away but still came through the field to take wins/seconds which saw him rack the points up to come out a worthy winner of the Main top 10.
towards the end of the season Rod Gaunts bitch Cragrats Troubles Mate was chipping away at the 2 leaders ready to jump in and take top sport should the top to faulter for any reason.
The Consolation Top 10 proved a close battle between 4 dogs at the top all year towards the end of the season it was down to just 2 for top spot Blizzard Of Oz & Winterfell Lady Grey going into the last meeting of the year it was so close any one of them could of took top spot but it was Winterfell Lady Grey who took the top spot in the Consolation leauge by just 3 points in the end.

The sports club where we run were holding a quiz night so 4 of our members made up a team and entered, i'm very pleased to say they "came from behind!" (our chairmans words not mine?) and won the quiz.
WELL DONE TO Jeff (pennymeadow) Russ (Rustic), Geordie & Kate who collectivly where know in the quiz as the "WHIPPING BOYS" and girl.
This year we ran alternate weeks of scale weights & club hcp which has seemed to work very well and will be used for the coming racing season.
We will be trialing a few Sundays over the winter as and when conditions allow anyone wanting a few trials with us will be very welcome please ring me on Sunday morning to see if we are trialing.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE FOR A SAFE 2010 RACING SEASON
