only three dogs tonight , took longer to set up track than to run dogs , one ped only tiggers third time at the club but comming along well taking more notice of the lure now, ours ran ok madi and inca but still bloody cold , someone said it was going to SNOW next week NEVER (w00t)

A guy came over to talk to us , told us a good story of the days when he raced on the quey meadow in lancaster by the river near the castle 51 YEARS AGO, 51 YEARS , he said his dad was offered £60 for the dog he was racing , didnt get any names but i will ask him next time we see him. Did any one you know race on the quey meadow 50 years ago , if so please let us know

Nice to see a few new faces along with the older ones hope this will go from strength-to-strength--track looked good--well done Mick/Lynne--

the pups mick/lynne bred certainly look the part--good luck :luck: :luck: with them you deserve some GOOD LUCK just for a CHANGE

Steve

Thanks for your kind words steve , always the gent you are nice to see you and karen back at the track giving your help and advice as always , yes it is good to see new faces at the club and such nice people , hopefully as you said with more new members we can take the club forward and keep this old but small club going , the ground still needs a little work doing on it in a few places but we should have that sorted soon , people may not know but we get no support what so ever from the council so its hard work for us all as a small club to maintain the track , train our dogs , run a business and hold down full time jobs with the added problem of the track being on a public playing feild we have golfers and horse riders putting their ten penneth worth of damage to the track , but its all worth while, to see our dogs win now and then is a big boost to the club, lets hope we have many more years at LANCASTER WHIPPET RACING CLUB and many more WINNERS

Good night another new member 2 year old pedi looks like its getting the hang of chasing after coaching off Steve and Mick and the help from some sausage. All together 12 dogs training regular (w00t) things looking up for our club. Good to have Steve and Karen back again, our pups doing well ragging and playing. Bear back training hopefully will be ready for champs, will be 5 in june dosent seem that long ago she was training as a pup. Annie looking well after her long lay off putting in some good runs keen as ever on lure. Nice to have my dad getting back into the sport after 40 years with his pup pebbles, telling stories of the old racing days, looking forward to race his pup next year.

sounds a canny little club, hope it goes well.good to hear steve and karen into the racing :luck: :luck:

If we keep those happy who are new to the sport they might just bring along a friend ---who may like to get into racing

even if it is only at club level ---i think it is great for kids /families

Iwill see if i can get a key for referees cabin then we can brew up and make them even more welcome--

always thought that was a lovely touch when going to Blidworth many a time after driving looked forward to a brew

Training two nights a week gives a better chance for folk who have funny hours to work a better chance

I would really love to see us having a few races instead of just solo runs eventually if we get the dogs we will for sure--

Glad--- Mick/Lynne are still enjoying thier racing --and the pups look great!!!!!!!!!! future champs!!!

steve

Another huge (w00t) turn out at LANCASTER CLUB again tonight , no room in the car park, 9 dogs YES NINE DOGS  . Two pedies running 150 yards and now trapping well, Steves two girls Annie and Alva running realy well putting in good times. Nice to see Darrens two lads back Rocky and Charlie after a short rest , both running well and looking good. Our own girl Bear having two runs and getting back in shape after having her babies in January and being spayed nine weeks ago . Our pup Lotti not having a run tonight, she is a bit off colour but her sister Pebbles had a run after the lure and looked BOB ON  Nice to have more members joining the club and clearly enjoying the evening running their dogs, we had a nice sunning and warm night but LOADS of midges biting

It was very encouraging seeing the few new members visiting our club-------

i really hope they get the bug who knows they could end up with seven dogs each like myself -

Mick is up to nine now i think---- if things keep going the way they are we could have some racing again instead of just training /solo

It was a pleasure to see Darrens Mule Skinner performing really well after he broke his leg as a pup--

looking good for champs --

his other charge was not on a go slow either after a long rest he also looked the part putting in some very impressive times--

my own two enjoyed the run having never been on a track for over twelve months-- just glad they came off without any injury signs--

Mick /lynne have kept the club going ---thanks for that--as i always said if we dont use it--- we will loose it thats for sure

all those that follow will sadly miss out--on what can be a really good sport ---

lost about six pound last night them midges love a bit of fatty meat --bit to bits

steve

GOOD night last night training at LANCASTER WHIPPET RACING CLUB, not as many dogs turned out tonight but there was some good running and good times put in by all the dogs even the pedis.six dogs in total, both pedis coming along grand both chasing the lure now, steves girls and our bear all running well and putting in good times, our dodge had a run and managed to come off this time without hurting himself as did all the dogs, our pup pebbles who is with lynns dad enjoyed her little sprint chasing the lure and putting herself out of breath. Another sunny warm night at the far moor, just short of a bar and a cold BEER lol

I was hoping that Ashley would have put some photo.s on she took ----live in hope die in despair!lol

i have just come on to tell all the new racers we will be training as usual Tuesday and Thursday evenings i will be there around six o clock hope to see lots of you ---

The pedigree dogs that have been coming--- are really doing well with training ---we have had them passing now twice--

with muzzles on also ---

three weeks ago they would not even chase lure i am really pleased for the owners who are only learning themselves ---

Hope they are enjoying it also--

steve
