LIZZIE

Meet the lovely Lizzie. She is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound lady who’s owner asked us to rehome now that her racing career is over. Lizzie is a pretty, slender girl with almond shaped eyes that definitely pull on heart strings. She has a soft black coat with 4 sets of white toes.

~ Personality ~

Lizzie is a very gentle girl who is good with people and very mannerly around children. She is quiet and sweet and really just wants to be loved. Recently she has moved out of kennels at last and is now in a foster home, so we hope to learn more about her little character once she settles in.

~ In the Home ~

Lizzie has just moved in to foster care and so is learning all about a home now for the first time in her life. She has discovered the sofa, and is also starting to play with toys. She is doing well and remains very sweet and biddable, and we hope to update with her progress in the home in the near future, assuming she doesn’t get adopted first!

~ Other Animals ~

Lizzie is well behaved and mannerly with the other greyhounds in her foster home. She is mindful of their personal space and doesn’t seem to have any vices. She has not met small dogs or cats yet, but we hope to gauge how she responds to them very soon.

~ Out and About ~

Like most greyhounds, Lizzie is not high energy and will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~

Lizzie is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet and collect her.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Lizzie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Lizzie, please email me (Tam) on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24hrs. Thanks!

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 greyhounds at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and given a full veterinary check before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.

Our Website: www.kerrygreyhounds.co.uk

If interested in one of our hounds, please EMAIL me for our adoption application form and information pack. Once you have filled in and returned the application form, we will then contact you via phone or email to discuss adopting one of our hounds in more detail.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. I can be contacted through the following email:

Thank you.
