I just have to share my news .................. I collected a French dog on Friday. I don't know when he will be in the ring as he had has a bit of a stressful time the last few months because his breeder's husband is very ill and she regrettably is having to part with a lot of her younger dogs. I asked if I could buy him over a year ago so, lucky me, had first refusal on him. He doesn't speak a word of English but eats for England and France and is a very kind dog. The photo is not brilliant but bearing in mind I had only had him for about 48 hours and he gets a bit tense if you try and place him in a stand, we thought it best just to walk him in and let him free stand.

Aren't Whippets wonderful as a breed though, I have 4 adult entire male dogs (3 have been used at stud and the 4th is just at 'that age') and I bring in another adult entire male and we haven't had one cross word amongst them. Not many breeds you can say that about!

He looks a nice quailty dog Caroline . what is his breeding ?

Yes, what is the breeding?

If he does not know English, then does he bark in French?

Le Wooof, La Growllll

but he`s ok if he wants to go

Wee Weeee`s !!!!!!!!!! :D

Oh please!! Of course he barks with a French accent but the others can't understand what he is saying so take no notice!!!!! Oh apart from Rupert as I speak French to him sometimes ............ perhaps that is why they got on from the start. I thought Rupert might be the one I had trouble with (can't think why LOL) but he accepted him straight away.

Breeding please !!

we`ve asked once already , havnt we Cartman , :b

Ooooh la la  couldn't resist ;)

Lovely boy Caroline, beautiful colour too - Glad that he is settling in so well, there is always that worry that a new adult won't be accepted lets hope he soon feels at home.

BTW whats his name?

No maybe she `s got them on her hands !!!!!!!!

Good afternoon Dessie, We would be interested in knowing the name, e-mail address/ website of the French breeder as shortly we will be looking out for a whippet bitch with British lines. It is so much easier for us to drive to France than to arrange the importation of a dog from the U.K. No need for special crates, rabies injections, Ministry of Ag. and Fish certificates etc. Should you have any other French contacts please let us know. Does this breeder have Manoir de la Grenouillere breeding? Congratulations on you new dog. Stephen Mason, Madrid

*jumping up and down* :teehee: I think I know the name of your new 'frog' :- " Congratulations Dessie!!! You have mentioned him before on k9... :p IF I'm right about your new treasure I met his maternal grand-dad when I was down to France to mate my Ellen between christmas and new years! He might be a bit tense in the picture but he still looks lovely!

OK, Frogdog's name is Tavish Junior du Manoir de la Grenouillere (now shortened to TJ) and, hopefully, his pedigree is attached here. His litter sister lives with Janet Duke in N Ireland and she won PGB at the Whippet Club of Ireland Ch show at the weekend.

Stephen, I believe Jackie Bourdin has another young bitch similarly bred for sale (she is called Une Fleur du M de la G)

bonjour whipster.

pour alez a la plage sil vous plas? (i think ive asked him (incorrectly)the way to the train station or beach  you can probably tell i got chucked out of french lessons.

As soon as I heard he was for sale I wondered how long it would be before he arrived at your place. Congratulations Dessie and thank you for an older photo of him! Been wanting to see him all grown up for so long! I have liked him since I first saw his puppy photos on Jackie's site.

Wonderful news that he is with you - Good Luck in the ring - keep us posted on all his triumphs!

Is that another k9 member handling for you Dukie?

BTW She looks a lovely bitch

Dawn

Hi Dawn,

That is me on the end of the lead this time, I'm afraid my little french person took a while to settle down and now she only behaves (sort of) for me!!

Gorgeous both of them!!!! :) Also TJ really looks like a Joli Mec son to me. Grand-dad Dreamer dMdlG :huggles: is a very dignified old man (born '88).
