Well done Dessie. Very nice dog, I thought it was he, you were just teasing us with the wait for his name :p

Gorgeous both of them!!!!  :) Also TJ really looks like a Joli Mec son to me. Grand-dad Dreamer dMdlG :huggles: is a very dignified old man (born '88).
Yes, Jackie Bourdin said TJ gets more and more like Joli Mec as he grows up. Dreamer is not very well at all and Jackie thinks he will not be with her much longer. I (almost) felt awful when we put him in the car because Jackie was so choked but .............. c'est la vie!!!!

I got a big hug and a kiss (french one of course) from him when I got home from work yesterday afternoon, which I was really pleased about. He obviously quite likes England, especially the grub as he was only fed complete feed in France ............ well, that's against my religion I'm afraid so he had one meal of that and now it's tripe or whatever meat and biscuit. But he will try absolutely anything, even had a bit of banana yesterday!!!

Dukie, your tadpole is looking lovely, I hope they can meet up again soon.

o:) Jackie does have some very good whippets. I showed under her in Melbourne a few years ago. Liked her judging too.

There is another French whippet name quite famous. I think it is pronounced "The great sack of asholes."French to English looses a bit. o:)

Thank you, took him to ringcraft last night and he was a bit overawed to start with but soon got into the swing of it. Millie said he looked lovely standing, much more relaxed than he was, so he is obviously starting to trust me. Hopefully we shall take some more photos of him soon. He really is a lovely dog, not submissive to the others but not aggressive either and they have all accepted him with no problems He stuck his head in Rupert's food bowl last night and got the usual reaction of a bounce forward and a woof right in the face but he respected what Rups had to say and backed off casually and nothing more was said. I have to give full credit to Rupert because I really thought he was going to be a little sh*t, just goes to show how wrong one can be!!! You just have to respect that he likes his personal space.

dessie, he does look like a nice boy. Would love to see him in show stand. Also he looks like he will keep his topline on the move, & is well balanced.

Hello everybody!!!

I am completly new here so I hope it will work!!

Well I am actually the owner of Dreamer du Manoir de la Grenouillère who will be 16 years young in june... Dreamer was very well until last August when we had the (as we call it here) Big Heat. After that he lost a lot of weight but he is still with us, he has some ups and downs but he still eats, walks, he is clean ect....

I also have at home a brother and sister by Joli Mec and TJ often met the dog "Mojo" in the rings... as well as at my home!!!

Good lick with both of them, will be interested and proud of what they will accomplish in UK + Ireland

BTW I first met those two "froggies" when they were 2 months old.

Well somebody here might have recognised me, haven't you Malin? 8)

Greetings from a sunny France to all!!!

Alors! Bonjour Morgan!!!! Nice to talk to some relatives and maybe get a bit of background, how did TJ do in the ring, I did not think Jackie had shown him that much. I know he qualified for this year's Crufts and she says that he has been lure coursing as well.

I am glad that Dreamer is still OK-ish, I hate it when they get old and have their good and bad days, I am paranoid about my Dessie who is 13 now. Have you a picture of Dreamer we could see?? Maybe a recent one and one of him in his heyday??? Who is your Joli Mec son out of?

"Good lick with both of them, will be interested and proud of what they will accomplish in UK + Ireland". LOL ..... Sorry to laugh Morgan but English people will understand that this, although a typo on your part, is very reminiscent of a comedy programme called 'Allo, 'Allo!!!!!

Happy to meet you here Miss Howarth! <-- I don't know if it is Tamara or Nathalie...   But I'm guessing Nathalie?? :clown:

Dreamer might not be the fastest whippet any more but he sure is a sweetheart!!!

Ellen and puppies send their love to daddy!

Hello Malin!

Wrong!

It's Tamara! :p

Caroline, I am happy that my typing fault will at least make people laugh (like that they will ignore my english faults!!!! :D )

If you give me your real adress I will send you pictures of Dreamer, my computer is very old and very slow and except receiving Malin's wonderfull pictures it doesn't know what the word picture means!!!! Sorry typical French Humor :clown:

Jackie showed TJ, he was very rarely unplaced.

My Joli Mec's son is out of my Moïra Taraly MADE IN HEAVEN who is the litter sister of my black Multi Ch. SBIS Ch. Int Ch. NL Ch. Ger Ch. VDH Ch. World Ch'01 Taraly MALCOLM X

Oops! My only excuse is that I'm no good at guessing... never was and never will be!

Welcome Tamara!!!!

Aha!! Now all the pieces are coming together, you have that lovely black bitch with a white trim??

And I wll tell TJ that I have been talking with his friend Mojo's mummy!!! What colour is Mojo???

And, Tamara, your english is wonderful, by the way.

I was very brave yesterday afternoon and let TJ off his lead for the first time (with much trepidation) but he was fine and enjoyed playing with the two puppies. He is such a good mannered dog and will do anything for food!

Well thank you very much Caroline, I am trying my best. :b

Yes I have a black bitch with white trim, called "Spicy" Taraly TOO FUNKY by "Spike" (Malcolm X) ex my german sweet bitch "Wendy" ACTRESS High on Emotion, herself by Spike's half brother our "Shawn" (Multi Ch. MY KNIGHT du Manoir de la Grenouillère). But I don't know how you know her. Did Malin send any picture?

Mojo is a bit the same as his sire, a bit of a lighter colour. His dam "Moïra" is black brindle with white trim. I don't have only black. I mostly have brindles.

TJ is a sweet dog, and Jackie's dogs are very much trained to be off-lead by her, but I understand that you were nervous, you never know how a dog new to you can react. I didn't know that TJ was so mad about food, never noticed it (or maybe he preffers English food, Yorkshire Pudding or so ;) ). Is he used to his new name? Jackie used to call him "Junior".

I can't remember where I saw Spicy, a Whippet Biennial perhaps??? Caught my eye because I have blacks as well and I got started with the French connection through seeing Nec du M de la G at Crufts and subsequently using him. I have always admired the du Manoirs and feel privileged to now own one (well, one and two halves really LOL) ............ and a black brindle, deep joy, I have always wanted a black brindle!!!!

I know Jackie used to call TJ Junior but I couldn't get my head round that one and he didn't seem to react to it anyway ............. wrong accent obviously!!! Certainly wasn't going to call him Tavish, not into Scottish I'm afraid. TJ was made up as a joke really but he seemed to respond to it, so TJ it is!!!

I am afraid Jackie will probably be very cross with me because I had strict instructions about his feeding but my dogs are fed 'au naturelle' here and I can't be doing with complete feeds as a staple diet so he had one meal of his own stuff when we got back on Friday and then launched into chicken wings etc from the Saturday morning .......... and hasn't looked back since!!! Don't you go telling Jackie that I have been naughty!!

I always have a bag of titbits in my pocket and they get a 'sweetie' every time they are recalled, TJ soon latched on to that one!! But he shares toast at breakfast, leftovers from supper, snacks like bananas, crisps, anything really!

My dogs are all free run as well so, again, I let him off as soon as I felt he was comfortable with me, probably could have done it sooner but I would have been mortified if I had lost him that soon after getting him! LOL!!

Don't worry Caroline. I won't say a word about that neither to Jackie nor to anyone

;) ... except of course the ones who will read that :p ... I hope Jackie won't come to visit this page :- " !!!!

If ever she does, as she doesn't understand quite well she will ask me the translation, I will tell her that you followed all her instructions "to the letter" as we say her

Absolutely!!! To the letter!!!! If she ever finds out I will just say I misunderstood!! LOL

Hello Tamara! Welcome to k9!

Hugs and kisses to all your dogs (but special big ones for Spicy and Spike) ;)

Caroline - you-naughty? NEVER! :p

Absolutely!!!

Had a big fright yesterday afternoon with Frogdog. There we were, 5 minutes from home, and what happens? A full grown Roe Deer pops up right in front of them. 6 Whippets ................. gone, including TJ. The air was a trifle blue at this moment in time and all my friend and I were left with was an Irish Terrier.

Luckily though, it would seem that TJ is not au fait with deer as a minute or so later he appeared back through the gateway, he ignored me bawling at him and sniffed up and down the hedgerow before going back through the gateway again but at least I knew he hadn't gone at any great speed into unfamiliar territory. Then he reappeared again and decided to join us. Well, my hear sank at that moment because he was not going the path route to me and then ............... splosh! He disappeared from view into a very wet, black, stinky, huge BOG! My friend and I just looked at one another horrified as he emerged, completely wet and covered in black, filthy silty dirt and dotted with bits of green duckweed ALL OVER HIM!

We had to wait about 15 minutes I suppose before the rest eventually all came back, in dribs and drabs, Rupert being the last, of course, and still looking for the damned deer. But guess where TJ went when we finally got home!!!

UP THE WOODEN HILL!! So he is now all shiny and squeaky clean, plus smells a lot better. Pauvre garcon!!!
