Now the nights are drawing in and the clocks are going back this weekend :( I am trying to find a collar that glows or lights up in the dark so I can see where my boys are when I walk them, especially in the fields and the woods.

If any of you could kindly suggest which collars you have found useful and effective would be really appreciated, as looking on the website is doing my head in!!!!!!! Thank you so much

Thank you Nicky, there are just so many out there, some are quite chunky and make them look like an alien  yet the florescent ones are only useful when you have a torch shone on them!! Please don't go out of your way, but thought this was the best place to ask  Thanks again x

Oh, I may have to get a little flash light for Austin then!!

But you are braver than me. I don't like walking in the dark on my own.

I bought mine off Helen (Dolly) when she had some on sale earlier in the year. They are made by Canac and are about half an inch wide. There are 6 little lights that flash red (you can turn this on or off) and are flourescent yellow. Our first walk is at 6.30am so now we need them. They wear them in addition to their walking collars and are great, infact my nieghbour said the other day he wondered what it was, he saw the flashes and then realised it was me and the boys.

I have used Canac K9 lights for years now, I have tried most other things and these are the most effective

Canac K9 Lites

just my personal choice, but i find that the collars are better for us, we used one of the lights that attach to the collar but when when gyp's was at certain angles we couldnt see it  where as the collar we could see all the time

sorry cant remember where i got it from though :b

This is helpful, thank you - I got a pink glow ring collar for Rocky a year ago and he hated it - it was like a halo but on his neck  plus it didn't last long :(

i bought some of these in our pound shop in town a few months ago.theyre covered with a strip of fluorescent fabric and they have flashing led lights all the way round.at only a pound they were a bargain. i hate dark nights and dark mornings. :( cant go to the woods and walk the dogs as theres to many weirdos around these days and you never know whos hanging about.so we have to stick to doing roadwork apart from the days one of us is at home and not working so they can have a good romp

You did well get the collars for a pound. The collar your describing is what I am looking for  I try to stick to the fields as I feel safer, but with a torch and my two dangerous dogs    (only joking, they are very friendly whippets) I think I will just have to walk a bit faster! Like you the dark mornings and evenings suck, its only the weekends that I can actually enjoy long walks in the day light :D Don't tell me too much or I won't walk out in the night (w00t) At least everyone on K9 are being sensible now winter is on its way :huggles:

I know the feeling - our first walk is around quarter to 7, and the other morning a guy came at me out of the dark with a big stick. Turned out it was the guy down the road who had seen my torch flashing and thought I was a prowler!

I also got mine from the local market about about £1.50 - when the batteries eventually wear out, I will just get another one - great value!
