Hi

I have a 1.5 yr old collie who after an accident now has a dislocating shoulder. We are trying hydrotherapy and have tried using vetwrap to hold her shoulder into place. Has anyone else ever had a dog with this issue or can anyone recommend any type of bandage or jacket etc that can help to hold it in?

We need to try and keep her shoulder in for the healing process to work which is proving difficult at the moment, any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry can't be much help but have you tried a splint or a hobble (basically legs tied together at shoulder width apart).

What has the vet said to do?

Not tried that no...will look it up see what I can find because of the way the bone is popping out the vet said there is little surgically he can do for it apart from amputation but they don't want to do that until they really need to as it put alot of extra weight on other leg, so they are recommending hydrotherapy and bandaging
