Hi everyone,

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am new to the site and live in the South West, I recently lost my beloved rescue greyhound Susie who I had for 9 years and am now looking to provide a loving home and lots off lovely country walks for a Whippet bitch :D .

I am ideally looking for between 6 months and 4 years old, but would consider younger or older, possibly a show dog that a breeder is running on that hasn't turned out to be suitable for showing.

If anyone can help or knows of anyone who could help me, I would really appreciate it, I am willing to travel.

Thanks

Nicky

Hello and welcome to K9.

I hope you find your whippy soon.

We live in the South West too - near Taunton.

Hi Nicky

Welcome to k9, your sure to find what your looking for on here theres normally quite a few that need rehoming. Good Luck in your search, and Happy New Year.

Good luck in your search. I found my dog (the one I'm going to meet tomorrow) on the non-pedigree racing section. Have a look there! :luck: :luck:

there's been a young and pretty blue and white bitch advertised in Ireland for a while, "Culeen"

www.irishanimals.com

or http://www.irishanimals.com//adoptagreyhound.html

or Limerick Animal Welfare, from UK phone 00 353 61 336740

(see also Caoimhe - pronounce something like Keeva -at http://www.irishanimals.com//clare_homes.html but Caoimhe is larger than Culeen, and at the same page, Annie, a whippet-cross who has a litter to rear before she goes to a new home)

you could also look at http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....showtopic=17344

and pm Jools, the person who posted the first message, if you are interested in adopting that non-ped whippet in Lancashire

18 month old whippet cross bitch at Evesham greyhound & lurcher rescue:

http://www.lurcher.org.uk/phoebe.htm

also look at the rehoming section at http://www.lurcher.org as they sometimes list whippets and whippet crosses (or whippet sized lurchers)

I always like to hear what happens with these hounds so please do report back when you welcome a new canine into your life
