I've only just realised that I've lost my lovely soft, dark brown leather show lead that I bought specially for Monty off of the JR whippet rescue stand last year

The last time I saw it was at NWA about 4 weeks ago - I have stacked him since then, but have just done it without a lead, today I decided to get it out of my show bag and its not there!!!!!

If anyone found it lying around at the end of the show, please give me a shout

Or poor Monty is gonna get dragged round the Crufts show ring on a bit of old string :( :- "

Thanks x

Somebody may have been kind enough to be looking after it until they know whose it is, fingers crossed.

I hope so, bailing twine isn't a good look for Monty, the orange clashes horribly with his coat! (w00t)

Our bailing twine is a nice lilac at the moment, if you get desperate give me a shout and I will send you a piece (w00t)

I have checked my bag, and I haven't got it o:)

Hope you find it :luck:

Is it inside his soft crate or in his show blanket?

Who was your crate next to?

I suppose it was an expensive lead wasn't it. How very annoying.

an experienced show person did laugh when I told her how much it cost, she said it was more than she'd paid on leads in all her years of showing :- "

I started packing my bag for crufts today LOL - just unpacked it all and checked - sorry no lovely brown show lead

hope it is found

oh yeah, we were next to you! thanks for looking

poor you, i hope it turns up :luck: :huggles:

Dont hold you breath Doris :( . JOK had one NICKED off her cage at a club show last year

I have bought another one from whippet rescue stand at crufts today, but they didn't have the lovely dark brown that they had before :(

It wouldn't have turned up somewhere sensible like with all the other leads or anything would it (w00t) 8) :- "

I doubt it Tracy, I should think she's put it somewhere silly like her knicker drawer, or in the saucepan cupboard! She is a very clean & tidy person so it may be carefully stashed with the cleaning materials.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

I am sure that Whippet Rescue will give her a refund for the one she bought yesterday, after all, she is a very nice lady and I think they will see that it was a genuine situation o:)

Had to be an expensive one.... like sunglasses as soon as I buy an expensive pair the first thing I do is break them. Oh and if you're anything like me Alison you'll go to crufts, buy a new lead and when you get home the first thing you'll remember/discover is where the other one was (w00t)

OK, it's true, I did find my show lead hanging up in the cupboard :b

But I'm sure it's not necessary for you 'ladies' (or 'friends', as I used to call you :- " ) to enjoy to enjoy mocking me so much o:)

For a start, I would never, ever hang my show lead there, it goes in my show bag

And I don't even know where the cleaning or cooking stuff lives, so I definately wouldn't have stashed it there  ( Actually, that's not strictly true - I know where the dog mince and saucepans live  and the wee-wipes are, I am an iggie owner  )

So I am in the position where I am going to have to fight the crowds to get to JR whippet rescue stall on Sunday to see if they will exchange it (I can't ask a charity staff for a refund, can I? )

Or, as one smart ar** said (and she knows who she is ;) ) I can save it in case I get another whippet to show - even though I've said that I'm not getting another dog yet, no matter how 'sweet' it is ;) :- "
