What a brilliant venue ... a nearer field on a gentle slope for parking etc., and a further undulating field on which to run the coursing, all in a beautiful corner of North Yorkshire ... thank you so much to the landowners for putting up with us all
My Taran (Quickslip Midnight) on the right, and Sarah's Maggie May (Winterfell Princess) on the left, running in the first course of the 8 dog stake
My Finn (Mallyfield Silver Knight) on the left, followed by Finlay (Mableshounds Dark Night) running in the main 16 dog stake
Jinnyfizz Jane's Irie (Carbozier Ironic)
Ted took a fair few photos, so just a selection here ... I've named the dogs where I'm sure of who's who ... sorry if I didn't know your or your dogs name.
My 'pup' Taran (Quickslip Midnight) ... just days off his first birthday it was his first lure course and we were so pleased with him ... totally unfazed in the slips, and in the straight racing although Ted fumbled and slipped him at least 3 lengths behind the others by the finish line he'd caught them up !
My Tyg (Blackvelvet Knight) watching the action
My Finn (Mallyfield Silver Knight) waiting with Finlay (Mableshounds Dark Night) for slipper Aaron Atmore to be ready for them.
I always start my boys in muzzles ... they seem to know that means it's serious and not just a bit of fun with the lure machine. Sadly we had to withdraw Finn before his semi-final run due to an injury to his paw (nothing major). Apologies for not remembering the names of Finlay's owners, but what a cracking dog ... it may have been his first lure coursing competition but I'm sure it won't be his last
My Tyg (Blackvelvet Knight) doing his impala impression
Oops ... Becka Abbot's Otis (Cyanara Ice Saint of Niisyf)
