its at alferton leisure centre , editha newton ,,

no whippets just got kobi in av puppy and av puppy stakes .

had entred jan but will see , she will be on day 21 of her season and is nearly back to normal so may take her .

sorry cant make sy but i do not have transport for the day ,, hope you have a great day , will be the first one ive missed since ive been showing jan
 
ahhh, i didnt know about this one else id of entered. Would of been nice to meet you saraquele. :( Its quite close to me. Im at a show in Burton on Trent on the sunday (26th).

Good luck to all going to SYWC :luck: . Sadley i missed the closing date :oops:

just nip over with no dogs to say hi if its local ? starts at 9 am and im 1st in with av puppy dog , be good to meet you ,, you will know who to look for , the parti coloured blob bouncing around wagging his tail (w00t)

Dont think i will be able to make it now as ive got other plans , :( but if id of known sooner id of come! Good luck though :luck: and hope to see you some other time! :D
 
what do you all think about me taking jan ? is it too soon with her season i mean ?

as i said she will be on day 21 / 22 and is nearly back to normal down there :b

kobi isnt intrested in her now but do you think she will still distract the other dogs ?
 
Do You have a rule that you car'nt show bitches in season?????

We do not have that rule in Australia.

Bitches in season are regularly shown.

sorry,but i,m a bit disgusted with this rule in Australia :rant: no way would i show a bitch in season,its not fair on the bitch and the males dogs and everybody else.the furthest she goes is the garden when in season(fully enclosed).just my personal opinion.
 
I agree dawn,there's nothing worse than having your male dog put off at a show because someone has brought a bitch in season :rant:

At National Whippet last year,i was just about to take Murph in the ring,when he got a whiff, & he was a nightmare to show as he kept on wanting to head off out the ring to find the bitch (w00t)
 
so do you think 3 weeks is too soon ?

may not even get there if it snows :(
 
well back from the show , both kobi and jan got 3rd in there classes

avnsc puppy and avnsc open

there were only 3 whippets there .

my 2 and SILKRIDGE CRAZY PARACHUTE AT LORNAVILLE

she won her class avnsc post grad

Its not just the male thing , but also if the bitch is very swollen :eek: surely thats the way to get an infection , Pyo etc just MO o:)
 
No, No, No, a bitch should never be taken to a show in season, no matter how near the end she may be. It is so unfair on the males. They only have to have a sniff in the air and they know. Experienced stud dogs may not bother so much, but young untested dogs go crackers, which when you've paid hard earned money to enter, having your chances scuppered before you get in the ring is so unfair!

Not only that I have been at a show where a bitch was in season and she didn't appreciate the attention she was getting and a nasty scrap ensued when a dog tried to mount her.

I'm sure none of us would want to inadvertently do that, also the bitch may not feel at her best, one of mine is so grumpy when she's in season and lots of male attention is not what she wants. Being a woman can affect bitches just as much as it does ladies.

Totally agree with Jax about picking up infection too.
