At last the stray from the vets has come home to stay. :)

She is such a meek little thing. I do hope her confidence grows as she adapts to family life here. I took her out earlier for a widdle. She lay down on the gravel to sleep. I'm not sure if it was the results of her op earlier today, but soemthing tells me this wee thing is used to roughing it. :( She then came back inside and when I went upstairs to put the kids to bed, she widdled on the hall floor. Work in progress methinks. ;)

The vet nurse told me that a woman had found her wandering the street with a sore leg and brough her in and kept her in the garagefor about a week. When she realised the leg wasn't getting any better she brought to the vets, were Willow has been living for the last 3 weeks.

She got neutered and microchipped today, so all in all quite an eventful day. We go back there on Fri or Sat for a bandage change as well as worm flea treatments. I hope to get her vaccinated then as well, do you know if that is safe enough?

She is def a whippy cross, with peerhaps a little collie in her? Tell me what you think. Pics aren't fab since it's a phone camera I'm using.

Willow

Whippet / collie / lab ?

willow is gorgeous  and lucky to have found you :huggles:

Aww,bless her,& what a lovely name

I would definitely NOT get her boostered. After all she's been through, the last thing she needs when she's not 100% fit is a vaccine.

No doubt your vet will contradict this  ,but imo,it would be too risky!

I am glad she has a home now poor little girl.

Hmm large ears, maybe a spaniel/whippet? There was a post a while ago about a cav/hwippet cross I think. I could almost imagine the pup to have grown up looking like your pretty Willow. Maybe from the same litter?

Linda

I am sure that Willow will soon come round. Sh ehas been through such a lot in a few short weeks, and who knows what her experience of life on the streets was like.

All I will say is that my first whippet was a rescue and they certainly never forget the kindnesses that you did for them. I certainly have never regretted taking on my first whippy boy. Goodluck.

so, how was her first night?

Note the bucket behind her in the first pic..... after cleaning up last night's puddle.

She slept really well last night, not a bother at all.

When I took the girls to school I closed her in the kitchen and also closed the sitting room door. I came back and she was in the hall having opened both doors, lol. I'll def have to lock the front door incase she opens it as well sometime.

o:)

She's lovely! Such gentle eyes. I'd say she might have a bit of Pointer in her - I know two Pointers, and English and a German, and her nose really reminds me of both of them!

Wishing you lots of joy with her :huggles:

I think I'd be happy to hold off on the vaccines for another while. She's only getting out for a wander in the back garden at the moment, so no contact with other dogs for now.

Once she's fit to get out and about I'd be more settled with her vaccinated though. I will discuss with the vet on how long it will be till she can get out and about with her leg on Fri/Sat BEFORE I mention the "V" word. 8)

she look so sweet, bless her

yes, I noticed the bucket immediately
