Hello Everyone :)
Don't post on forums much as they can be a bit unfriendly however this one seems different. Just wanted to say congratulations to everybody who attended especially Jess who has come so far in such a short time. Her Mum must be so proud of her.

Wiggy, I know how you feel with not having much time to show, I too have horses, four at the moment, and in the Winter months when they are stabled at night it is a lof of work, well lots of mucking out aghhhh! I have to be up each morning at 5.00am so family and friends know never to call me after 9.00pm as I am in bed! How sad is that!

yes jessiemae the horses take so much of our time in the winter months. and its all left to me as its dark by the time the girls get out of school. im a night owl though still uptill midnight even when im up at 6 the next morning, my dogs love a good charge round the paddocks before i let the ponies out. and a roll in the muck if im not very carefull.what breeds of horse do you keep? xxx
We have Arabians (mad arabs..lol..). I was trying to keep it to just three but ended up rescuing a part bred that was being sold at Llanbydder (sp) in Wales. I couldn't bear the meat man to get her so ended up bidding against him. Although not in the best of conditon, thin and covered in sores she has turned into the most beautiful mare and her manners are impeccable! You can't save them all but at least she has a second chance now.

Do you Daughters compete on the ponies ? must be lovely to watch them. I did a lot of pony/riding club competitions when I was younger but not quite so brave now..lol..

we have 1 pure bred arab shes 15hh grey and called saphire my daughter competes her up to 3ft 9 which im told is good for an arab, tessa is a blach 14.3 arab x sec d she is also a competition pony{well small horse lol} she has jumped 4ft, then theres little merlin hes a sec b x arab hes 12.2 and also grey. he was rubys first competition pony off leadrein he realy is a little star as quick as lightning and never refuses he jumps 3ft 3 tracks with ease, hes 17 now so will be staying with us forever.my girls compete showjumping, cross country and have just started jump cross which is very exciting, they all hunt with the pony club as well.i know what you mean about being brave i prefer to watch the girls compete or i will have a quiet hack round the village but thats my lot lol xxxx

Well isnt that spooky when I was teenager I used to show Pure bred Arabs under saddle and inhand. I once beat the beautiful Cherif at Hickstead. Arabs have always been my first love although I have a soft spot for the irish horses after 3 years on the Miltr#ary Police Mounted section at Aldershot.
Oh Jan, I really envy you, when I was a teenager all I wanted to do when I left school was join the Mounted Police Force! However my Mother had other ideas and I was discouraged which is such a shame. I too also love big Irish Draught horses however I don't like riding big horses, too worried about falling off. It would be like falling off your garage roof...lol..

I must admit I tend to be more cautious these days. I was forever getting thrown or carted off when breaking in the new Police horses but I have lost my nerve as I got older.
