It's an awful lot of dogs for one person to judge in a day. How can anyone be expected to keep their concentration over so many dogs?

Should the KC limit the number of dogs that a breed judge can judge in one session?

Here, the limit is 250. With about a 10% scratching amount. So if you got 260 less scratchings you were safe. It is up to the show if they will put on another judge in that case.

But if say 300, the first to go would be all baby puppy class's. However at "some" shows ie: ones run by State bodies or Royals they seem to do what they want.

(w00t) I shall be there with my MPD and the Sharmoo :teehee: who will probably give me a hard time :p

too far for me!

good luck everyone :luck:

9 am start  (w00t) . Ive got Mikkee entered only , and shes in Open Bitch  (w00t)
Many moons ago he gave` Mayzee`  Best Puppy in Show at Notts County Show ,when the entry was 1000 dogs plus .

I hope he lasts till Open Bitch as Mr Hulme is no `youngster`

suppose Il get it trouble for THAT comment too  :- "

How many did he judge though? Ellis Hulme could have judged as few as 2 dogs (BPIS & BIS)

Not me :( Archie first qualified for Crufts in MPD under Ellis Hulme  Wish I was but still decorating and moving house.... :(

Good luck to you all

You so obviously never went to the `old` Newark and Notts county show Dawn  , As serious money could be won in Maiden , Novice , Junior and post Grad and Open stakes , ALL done by the Best in show Judge :D

Mayzee won best puppy in breed , then Maiden stakes £15.00 AND Novice stakes another £15.00 (w00t) then Best puppy in show

The stakes classes always had at least 20 dogs turn up in each one too, as people didnt go home straight after their class because it was then joined with the Agricultral show as so many of our shows used to be .

This picture was in our local Nottingham Evening Post paper , along with other winners of the show ( eg best Cow  , Bull , chicken , Sheep etc ) ;)

No I am too young

Richard has been to the NNCS and enjoyed the show BUT it was there he showed under Andrew Brace    and from that day will never show under him again.

Richard told me not to bother showing under Andrew Brace - but I didn't listen :clown: and took my dog under him - I will not show under him again.
