Oscar was 6 months old on the 16th of april, I,ve been told to bulk him up ,with tripe which he enjoys, he has been a pleasure so far, apart from a piddling routine anywhere in the house, I have to watch him very, very closely.Hes had a few riots with the Blues Brothers, more like handbags at 20 paces, lots of noise and teeth but no injuries !!!

Oscars mother was DeerhoundxGreyhound and 23", the father collie, bed, whippet, deerhound and stands at 24"

Hes had a few outings with the ferrets and is already calm and patient waiting for rabbits to bolt, hes caught several baby rabbits now, so the farmer stays happy.I noticed yesterday the dreadful damage caused by rabbits on crops, where I go hunting.Thats after a winter where we caught 132 in the area. There back in the business of creating damage so its lamping outings for Oscar soon.He won,t be allowed to chase just to observe Otty the deerhound (Other thread) will be the hunter.

The Blues Brothers are now 7 months old and have turned into very good looking whippies, Blue has come 1st a few times at Terrier & Lurcher shows.Max always 2nd, hope it don,t affect Blues ego !!!!

They have caught adult rabbits on short courses, I,ll wait until there 9 months before I get them in the larger fields and lamping outings.

All of them went through a phase of not reacting to Recall, which is just so annoying, but thankfully they all react instantly now and return straight away.

Blue has retrived caught rabbits so it bodes well for future hunting trips.

Yesterday took a friend out with the mother of Oscar, her names Jade, along with Chip another lurcher.

A rabbit ran across in front of us and the dogs set off, then we saw more movement in some old tractor ruts, there were 3 hares. One of them ran towards the path of the dogs (Mental or what) the other 2 crept through a hedge and we watched them running off into distant fields, meanwhile the rabbit has made his escape and the hare has dropped his ears and gone into turbo mode after a long course and has made good escape.

We were out hunting rabbits with ferrets and nets, a legal hunt. The dogs then chased a hare which is not legal, however we had no intent to course hares. Its a very grey area, and I feel sorry for the police having to pursue the new law.

Mike, Oscar has one of those faces when you look at him you just fall in love, and yet he looks so intelligent. Hope you have many years of fun and hunting with him and the blues brothers also. How tall is he at 6 months old?

Oscars 22" at the moment, his dad was 24" and his mum 23".

Seen one of Oscars brother which is 2" smaller but bulkier at the moment, been advised to bulk up Oscar so he gets tripe in addition to Hills Science dry meall pellets.
