It has been a year today since I wrote this tribute to Mole. I still miss her. At least she is free of pain. Shed a few tears today :'(

2nd January 1996 to 10th May 2004

Today I made the decision to let Mole cross the rainbow bridge. As Italian Greyhounds go she was the best. She endeared herself to everyone who met her. She had sticky up ears and a huge grin with which to meet you, friend or foe.

She was the epitamy of the word companion dog. She often came out with me in the car to the shops just for the ride. She often led the charge through the dog flap to tell off the birds or the squirrel.

She has been ill for some time now having developed Cushings. Unfortunately her immune system began to break down and over the past week her blood stopped clotting and at just over 8 years old she went without a fight and with her ears still pricked up.

She is the third dog I have lost in less than a year but I am sure that both Merlin and Shera are waiting for her by the bridge and she will greet them with her special smile. She will leave a huge hole for such a little dog. RIP Mole

What a great tribute to Mole Jan :huggles: What a great little character & friend she must have been :huggles: :huggles:

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles: from all of us Jan, special snuggies from Zoom xx

I was following the most gorgeous, bright and yet small rainbow yesterday when I was driving back from the village. I always say hello to Chloe and the Doof (Seby) when I see a rainbow but this one was soooo intense. I loved Doofie of course but the hole Chloe left in my heart will never stop hurting.

Anniversaries can be so painful. Thinking of you and the friend you miss so much... :(

ah, poor you :(

some happy memories though - the boys always loved her smile, they spent ages trying to teach Genie to do it, but she just licked their noses :'(

Can't believe it's a year Molie has been gone.

I am reminded of her every time I see a photo of Doris's Genie- they have the same expression

R.I.P. Mole from Liz, your grand-daughter Alice and all the Monellis xx
