I moved recently to a more rural location. I've discovered we have moles in our garden! Can anyone suggest a humane way of dealing with them please? I really don't want to get a mole catcher involved which, as I understand it, will involve killing them. I've heard coffee can be a deterrent by placing it in the opening of the holes, although I can't see how that will prevent them from digging elsewhere, and as our dog runs around in the garden, I don't know if that'll be detrimental to him.

All suggestions welcome!

Oh what a shame, it won't show the vid. Well, those of a certain age will know exactly what I posted - Jasper Carrott's sketch 'There's only one way to get rid of a mole'. Pure comic classic, but not much help with getting rid of moles humanely!

I can't help but it reminded me of a story of two neighbours, who fell out - badly - over something.

One was incredibly proud of his bowling green standard lawn, on which he spent a huge amount of time and effort.

One night, the other neighbour went in with a grow-bag and tipped lots of little piles of compost all round it.

Oh my gosh, that's naughty but very funny!!😂😂

@arealhuman do you need to get rid of the moles?? Maybe your boy running around the garden will deter them or encourage them to move on?

Just for @JudyN:

Thanks for the replies. I should've made it clearer, I don't want to kill them, just stop them digging if possible! Rusty running around - when it's not waterlogged, it seems to have been constantly raining since we moved - hasn't moved them on.
