Hi to All,

:( my girl Chilli (A/Ch. Birrarun Chilli Peppa is 5wks in whelp to BISS A/Ch. Marchpast The Emblem (imp UK), due to her being off her food at 3wks I took her to the vet for a check up & ultra sound, she has 8+ puppies, she was so seedy & unable to look at food for 7 days( just sniffed, rolled the eyes & walked away), talk about morning sickness, she only ate a little at night for the last week, i am elated that she has finally, in the last 5 days started eating again, so I have been giving her little feeds during the night (due to our hot weather, can't leave fresh meat down all night)

This morning she acually ate a little for brecky, (dry reached but held it down) I have been giving her Nutrigel(vitamin suppliment) through this difficult time.

Has anyone else experienced such a bad case?

She has 4 weeks to go, i don't think she will go full time.

Pic attached, Chilli at rear.

Aw bless her. I hadn't ever thought about dogs getting morning sickness, but I guess there's no reason why they shouldn't suffer  Glad she's feeling better

Yes I'm having the same with Diva, she is also expecting about 8 puppies. :) in April.

She is usually a very greedy dog, she ate all the way through her last pregnacy.

It has amazed me how much she is refusing food this time. Little and often seems to be the answer

I had a GSD Bitch who always had morning sickness when in whelp - she would nearly starve for about 3 - 4 weeks, then eat like food was going out of fashion for the rest of her pregnancy. They are strange creatures aren't they? She wouldn't touch her fave treat of cheese either!

Never had any other problems with her and she was a great mum - produced me CC winners (sadly never got titles though which is a shame).

Hope she does well

Julie
