Most useless dog thing you've bought?

I have a new one. @Torin, I'm looking at you

I use seaweed powder to help prevent dental problems. Someone suggested the horse type, which is the same as the stuff for dogs, but in bigger quantities and for a fraction of the cost.

If I get 20 dogs that live for, on average, 75 years each, I may get through the tub that was delivered today. So, 99% of it will be useless. 🤣

I'm NOT complaining though, it was still a lot cheaper, and it just means I need more dogs!

I had the opposite issue with the big expensive Yak cheese chews in that Fly decided he was going to try and eat the whole thing in 2 minutes flat. We don't buy those particular "long lasting" chews anymore.

I like yak chews but have banned rabbit ears as I have had to pull them out of both Percy and Sausage when they tried to swallow them whole.

Most useless dog thing we bought? Probably spending several hundred pounds on training delivered by a retired police dog handler, trying to calm our dog Jimmy's reactivity (defensive behaviour). The training was about dominating Jimmy, giving him strong pulls of his lead if he reacted to other dogs. Kind of worked when the trainer was doing it, but more through fear. I'll never forget him walking Jimmy on a busy quayside, Jimmy looking at me with eyes that said "why are you doing this to me?". Anyway, I didn't know better at the time about different training methods. We did also spend a lot of money with a more accepted form of training, that worked in a training environment, less so in the real world.
