Me and my boyfriend may have a chance of a fantastic 4 level terrace house, renovated to high modern standard, and cheap rent too!

We have applied, but theres one big disadvantage- a very small yard, 5/6ft wide and 20f long out the back... Our garden at the moment is nearly 2acres- lawn and trees to explore...

The cats will be ok- think they will adapt to the strange surroundings of bricks/buildings and people, they will still be happy- i hope! but my dog, may be bored with the lack of space outside.

I plan to walk her more and play/train her more to stimulate her, but how do you think this downscaling will affect her, (she is only small) The house is about 3 times bigger though, so more space inside.

any words of advice very welcome!x

Do you just have that little gorgeous Flo? :wub:

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, just take her out more for some good long runs.

My own gardens pretty big but even so the dogs just love to go out every day on a good fast run away from home with a change of scenery.

yep just my ginger beardy flo! i'll probably take her for short one in morning, chris may take her one lunch timeish, and i usually take her for a little one at night. so she'll get at least 2 walks a day, im a worrier as we all want the best for our pets, they are like my adopted children! but i think we deserve a nice house, ive lived in dumps for over 4 years! im sure it wont knock her- shes a happy wee thing..

We have a tiny (about the same size as your new one) garden and three lurchers and a whippet. The solution is that I walk an awful lot. They only really use the garden to go the the loo and lie in the sun, they can barely break into a canter in it.

I also have a very small courtyard - mostly used for the toilet and sunbathing, but it means I go out walking alot too, and its great for me and the dogs, and more stimulating for them, go for it, the house sounds lovely :thumbsup:

We only have a small garden - just useful for a pee really, but makes you get out and do loads of walking!! :thumbsup: :luck: :thumbsup:

We also have a small garden and 10 dogs !!! (w00t) .......I just give my lot a good gallop everyday .......it works for us .......... :luck: moving, your new house sounds fab

If it was smaller, I wouldn't be so knackered at having to upkeep it, and I'd have more energy to walk the dogs further on a weekend

You'll be fine. No garden is an issue, a bit of a garden is a blessed relief :thumbsup:

House sounds fantastic and I'm sure Flo will enjoy tearing round it I have small garden too so we (myself & 2 lurchers) go out for nice offlead dashes round countryside and see all sorts of wildlife in the process altho I do yearn to be able to open front door and let them run.....

yeh, having the big garden does make me lazy i suppose, as flo just enjoys tearing around in it!

the house isnt yet ours, so im still really worried! we have submitted our application before anyone else, plus the landlord has worked with my dad, and he said he was impressed with me when i went to view it with him! but 2 other people have viewed it- dont know if they have applied yet though,,,, :sweating: :sweating:

WE GOT IT!!!!!

as some of you maybe aware, i havent had a great year so far, but with this news- its just made my year!!!!

i cant believe our luck, basically my boyfriend saw a job advertised in my hometown 15 miles away and applied, in the meantime i saw a lush house in same town. so i applied for it. things started to get stressful as we didnt know whether anyone else had applied- so then we got the fab news that chris had got his job! but then we were worried as he couldnt say yes to job until we knew if we got house! after 48 awful hours- we found out we got house, and chris accepted job - PHEW!

so its gonna be a total new start, especially for chris- new town new job, for me it'll be amazing, to live back in my hometown, i will be travelling 25mins to work each day, but thats nothing really.

sorry about that- verrrry excited!

im thinking practically now though- i need to change our adress, i know ive got to contact- bank, phone,pet ins&microchip, car ins,vets ,docs

but who else???

A thousand things to do when moving I know, think you forgot to add electricity and gas reading, and get post redirected.

Very stressful but exciting at the same time if things go along nicely. :luck:

Glad you've got the house you wanted and your OH got the job!

Good luck with your move, etc ... and your dog will be fine! We only have a small (very secure!) garden - which means the dogs have a toileting area, somewhere to run and chase their toys, and they get to go on long walks and gallops on the beach or in the forest nearby!
