helloI have 2 problems really first theres Milly, shes a collie x labrador whos mainly white and hairy, anyway, shes always been allergic to everything gets lumpy feet and sore patches but now shes started getting a really hard crispy nose and one runny eye that seems to be peeling as well. I cant take her to the vet because shes really old and will probably have a heart attack, she cant even take car journey without being sick. ive been putting vaseline on her nose but it doesnt seem to be doing much and its been almost 3 weeks now and shes starting to sound like a pig looking for truffles.

Can anyone give me any idea of what it is and how i can help her none of my other dogs have it (although they are really old and would catch anything going!)

any help would be great!

thanks

Zoe

Personally,i'd risk the journey & get her to the vets as she must be in a lot of discomfort!

Some vets do house calls, but it sounds to me she is just old. Where do you live? Her problems may be made worth by the cold weather.

I would go the chemist and get some eye lotion for conjunctivitis. But she may have the dog flu which is going around the USA and now also UK, for which she, in her age, would really need vet.

Poor lamb, she must be so uncomfortable, I'd be inclined to shell out the bit extra for a home visit, most vets will still do this, and it's got to be worth it for her sake and for your own peace of mind that it's not something the others will catch. Good luck, hope she's better soon.
