i have a 3yr old lab x bitch... she is completely obsesed with me.. she follows me around the house watching everything i do, always under my feet... she constantly wants me to be strokeing her or touching her and know one else can take her for a walk.. except me, she flatly refuses to go with any one else...help..

She's not crossed with a GSD is she? That's all normal behaviour for a GSD!

Mine won't eat for anybody else (went a whole week between meals by choice when I went away with my family and left her at home with my partner) and won't even let him take her out sometimes.

The only thing I can suggest is to selectively remove yourself from her presence as often as you can and get other people to hold her lead while you're out with her whenever you can, then just wander off for a moment and come back quietly without paying her any attention and further feeding her anxiety.

Close a door between you and her in the house for 30 seconds to start off with, working up to a few minutes at a time. Then when she's used to that close the door and then leave the house for a few minutes. It's important that you don't make any fuss of her when leaving or returning and that you do it dozens of times a day at random intervals.

Does she find anything else comforting or reassuring?

beckieboo. i wouldnt be too upset about that as long as there is no signs of aggresion, ive got a brindle whip x that follows me everywhere and sulks when i show too much attension to any other dog, but guess what? i wouldnt change or have it any other way. you should be able to work on the dog walking through your strong bond that you seem to have. having a bond with your dog is a plus not a negative.
