Hi, everyone!!

I have a 1 year old Golden Retriever and I started noticing that her paws are getting rough when the lockdown, quarantine happened. We haven't gone to the grooming salon yet because of the lockdown. It get scratches when she tries to cuddle and jump on me.

Can you give me suggestions on how to soften it? I already bought an automatic nail file but it will arrive in 2 weeks.

Thank you so much in advance! <3 Stay safe!

Hi you can try rubbing some coconut oil into the paws which helps soften them. I've tried mushers wax and it didn't help my boy's pads, so I bought Bio balm sos and its brilliant its softened pads, removed corns and removed thorns. I use it weekly to keep their paws healthy.

But NOT Neutrogena, it apparently can contain Xylitol. Please check other brands too, if not specifically for dogs as it seems to be something that can be added to hand cream/salves.

I thought it was normal for dogs to be a bit rough! Mine was well walked and had a few rough bits and cuts , never seemed to bother them one bit .

Neves bees wax for dogs paws is what i have used in the past with fosters that had been kept on concrete. ...cracked sore pads healed quite quickly;););)

I've made some 'paws polish' with almond oil and beeswax. The good thing is that if you buy almond massage oil...you can use it on yourself or the dog as it is. If you melt some beeswax in it...and turn it into a 'balm', it give bit more skin 'surface protection' as it last/keep longer BUT you can also use it as polish on any wooden surfaces as well :D:D

I've researched last night about coconut oil giving good benefits!! Good thing I have it in my kitchen!
