oooohhh...pretty babies. Your English Mabel looks a lot like my English Mabel.  Except my English Mabel would be nursing 8 or 9, the slapper.

  :* :- "

This is why she is now spayed.  It was never hard getting Mabel puppies. What was hard was NOT getting Mabel puppies.

Maybe she looks like her because she is her 2nd cousin, I think, anyway I bred her mother. (CH B Bittersweet) You gave Mabel a class when you judged over here I believe.

I think that Tabby looks a bit like Folly, but it's probably just the colour. Well done Tabby she is a fantastic all rounder I am proud of her too.

Oh! Was that Welstar as You Like it at Monelli, then? Oh, yes, I do remember her. She is much like my Mabel--how could I not like her? Better in some ways, though. Really pretty girl. I wondered why she wasn't showing the summer, and now I see why!

Here is my Mabel with two of her litters. I think the resemblance is uncanny.

Oh, definitely, and they've even got the same taste in whelping box colours!! :p

They are very similar aren't they? Glad my Mabel's only got 5 though!

Is that a kid's paddling pool you use as a whelping bed? Mabel loves her inflatable pool bed- it is so comfy and no chance of pups getting squashed or stuck in the corners!

Thanks for your lovely comments about Mabel Karen- I am very proud of her! o:)

Yes--I have a paddling pool with an ex-pen around it and it works great. I deliver most of my litters in the bottom of a large airline kennel and then let them spend the first night or two in there (makes sure everyone stays close to mum and doesn't get lost in blankets or chilled) and then move them to the "kiddie pool" (what we call it).

It's cheap, you can easily hose it out and sterilize it, and it does double-duty at our summer race meets for cooling down the dogs.

I guess I'm a very low-tech breeder. Some of my friends have built beautiful custom whelping boxes with lacquered finishes that are nicer than most of my home furniture.

But I really don't think the pups or the moms care. Keep the bedding clean by changing it a lot and keep plenty of food and water in front of the mum, and a few weeks later, they're crawling out of whatever you put them in, anyhow.

Aawww................Mabels

Must be something in the name.

Well what Beautiful Bluestreak babes both Mabels are.

I love both Mabels! Really nice to the 'over the water' version- congrats!

I got more lovely photos from this event which are too good not to share.

Tabitha was so happy to win the CWA Annual Match, she jumped for joy!

Or maybe she was jumping for the great prize, a really neat stuffed fox (life size).

Here she is relaxing on the field of victory, enjoying a few well-earned comforts from the spoils of her win.

And this one was taken by Ule and given to the editor of Line & Lure (this organization's newsletter) for publication, but it shows Tabitha posing in the ring with the beautiful beaded bling that judge Mary Magee made for her best adult winner:

I have never succeeded in getting a stacked photo of her that nice when I was actually trying to get one!

Then, there is Bonzer, my half-Aussie boy by Am.Aust. Ch. Byerley's Savile Row. He finished his straight racing championship and by extension, his Dual Purpose championship as he is already a bench champion and also a field champion in lure coursing.

Thanks for letting me share. I'm so excited to have such good photos. I guess it makes a huge difference having people who know what Whippets are supposed to look like taking the pictures! We get so frustrated around here trying to get win photos at the shows.

I am amazed at so many good ringside photographers in the UK who are happy and willing to share photos. We don't get photos like that after most of our shows.

They are super pics!! And I know what you mean about not being able to get decent "stack" pics when you want them!

By the way...I too have some lovely collars etc made by Mary, she has some beautiful stuff!!

great pictures of your beautiful dogs, Tabitha is   I will be ordering a couple as Xmas presents for mine from Mary

Lovely photos of your dogs Karen- I especially love the one of Tabitha jumping for joy- she is gorgeous!
