Hello I have a Yorkshire terrier who is my world but a little nightmare ! She has many issues that I am working on but one of the main things I don't no how to handle is my own anxiety in leaving her alone at home even for 5 mins let alone going to work. My life has stopped I carnt even go to the shop as I'm to anxious about leaving her. HELP.

Do mean she has seperation anxiety? Start crying and barking when you go?
She does that yes iv been trying everything toys, interactive stuff, walks before I go, curtains closed curtains open, rooms shut off or she has the run of the house. Nothing works. I don't no if my own worries worry her more and she feeds of that.

Do you need to leave her at all at the moment, and if so, is there someone else you could leave her with for this time (which will be harder than ever right now)? The key to SA is to start by not leaving her at all, and building up, at first, in terms of second, then minutes...

Do read the article if you havent done the slow build up, if you did?
I had a simular problem with my late furry friend and had tried every advise available.
If I even would turn my back toward the crate he was panting, pooping and peeing at the same time.
Took me over year to find out what calmed him down and it was the exact opposite of all that I was advised.
For him a solid leaving ritual worked, jackets on, getting the bags ect.
The throphy was our bed. We put him on there and said "See you later" The que that he knew were going out.
It might not work for your dog but if you really tried everything else according to the book than maybe something like this will work.
I must say that dogs are really not made to be more than 2.5 and max 5 hrs alone. Aldo we force them to, they absolutely dont like it. If you need to be longer out a doggie daycare might work or a babysitter. We also had a babysitter for Peanut if we had to go longer out than 5 hrs that's nothing to be ashamed of.

I have a little Dorkie , 18 weeks , I'm due to go bk to work soon, dreading is a Coco does not like being left , she does have an older dog here but makes no difference . I've been housebound for quite a while so she's been used to me being here. I have started to leave her to get used to it but she barks ++ Worried about the neighbours complaining !!

If she barks because she doesn't like being left, she won't get used to it. Do please read the link I posted above
