Fabulous photo of three GORGEOUS dogs, Beejay!   What were they looking at ?? :huggles: :huggles:

Would love to have known Poppy, what was her background and breeding? She is just my sort of lurcher.  :huggles:

In the snow scene they are up the garden which is very steep as you can see. They are probably looking over the top of the bungalow at either my neighbours dogs or into the woods so maybe so deer. Or perhaps the big cats which are supposed to live up there. (w00t)

Poppy's dad was a 3/4 deerhound 1/4 greyhound and her mum a 28" very rough coated cream lurcher. Mum was trapped several weeks after being spotted running on Salisbury Plains. May have been dumped after coursing? Who knows.

Unfortunately she was in season which was thought not to be a problem for the foster home as dad hadn't shown any interest in any bitch before. This time things were different. He obviously preferred leggy blondes. Poppy was conceived in a playing field in the snow. :D She was born on April 1st and died just before her 8th birthday. I thought that I'd have her for years more but cancer claimed her.

I miss her lots. Mad as a hatter, wonderful with pups, feisty as hell if crossed by other dogs, great fun to live with. One of the reasons that I fell for Tally's mum Ripple was because they were so similar in temperament. It took Tally a long time to get over Poppy's death, deerhounds can be funny that way.

Fern look's very snooty in her first piccy  ........The snow photo is lovely even with a Moose in it LOL :huggles:

Lovely photos BeeJay. Your dogs are so photogenic. That one where the pesky thing slipped into the shot is a stunner. The expressions on their faces is fab.
