Kaya has always been a bit of a livewire but since Zana has joined us

she gets way to excited on our walks. And she has caused several

wounds to the other girl's back legs where she drags them back when

they are running. I have tired all sorts of distractions but we still come

home with one of them marked by her teeth. I hate doing it to her but

i can't have her hurting the other girls, so i have no choice other than

a muzzle.

She hate's it and keeps trying to get it off. Now she is making the top

of her nose sore where she keeps rubbing it and i noticed today her

nose is a bit swollen............i don't suppose there is anything i can do

about this is there?

The state she gets into with all the rolling

Aaah Kaya!! But definitely the best thing to do and she will get used to it in no time.

Alfie has to wear one when he runs with the other dogs too.

Ann try putting vet wrap on the muzzle thats rubbing her nose, will help a little.

hopefully after a week or two she might stop nabbling the others and can go without the muzzle again

She still looks beautiful with it on

I have to muzzle Turbo :( only because he gets so excited on his walks he trys to nip my other dogs to get them running so he can play chase .

I tryed that type of muzzle he hated it , even brought the fabric type which he hated more made his nose bleed trying to get it off

Then i tryed the racing type muzzle ( wire kind ) and he dont mind that one at all ,think its maybe because so lightweight , which is great means he can still enjoy his walks :D

I hope Kaya will get use to the muzzle soon

If you can't get her to accept any muzzle the only other thing I could think of for you to do would be let the other two have a run around with her on the lead then put them on the lead and let her off by herself . That would only work if it's just the legs of the other two she is nipping and not other dogs .

Don't worry though this situation won't be forever they do settle down . :b

Trish there is padding on the bit that she's rubbing herself on.

Alison its is only my girl's she's nipping and its when they are

in front of her, she drags them back by their legs.

Turbo i may have to try one of those wire muzzle

The wire muzzles are just as bad for causing sores/wounds when rubbing and mine still protest about wearing them at racing even though there only on for at least 2 minutes .

If she really is causing too much damage to her nose i would be inclined to keep her on lead and just free run her on her own until shes got rid of some energy then try her with one of the others ,might be that she gets overly excited and a little hot headed, but once shes burnt some energy she might settle down a little.

Hope you get it sorted soon x

Trish i've tried seperate runs but they all just hover round my legs

waiting for the on-lead one to get off. They can't make out why

they aren't all on the loose.
