The weather wasn,t realy that bad folk's.I only got soaked to the skin twice,(i think). But then i couldn't run for cover, like everyone else,as i was the stupid judge.Wonder what all tyhose great lurcher folk do,when out lamping, ferreting,or hare coursing. There werequite a few faces missing from this show, and although there were a couple away across the water,it was disapointing to see the show not supported by others,as Robert has been making more than a big effort over here.1st thing that woke me,around 8 am,or before, was the phone, and Robert was in a fix,as he had been let down again, with the lure.I couldn't remember if id charged the bloomin battery,so had to dash out in my undie's,(yes,it was quite a sight),but as im not a little fat man anymore,i dont care.Thankfully, all i had to do was top up the charge a bit.It rained the whole way there, but i didn't arrive till just after 12,as i had a puncture on the way,and had to empty the back of the car of 3 dog's,to get at the spare, which was also a bit flat.Pyper went to his new home yesterday, which put me on a bit of a downer for a while. His new owner is a very good mate of mine, and one of the 1st friends i ever met at a lurcher show.Pyper will have a few girlfriends shortly,im sure, and then he will be coming home to another one, when the time is right.(Only for a short stay,i might add).Anyway.On to the show, and i decided id do all the lure work myself,as i only use an 18 amp 12 volt drycell battery for my lure, and couldn't afford any messups in the racing.Wasn't mane dogs for the simulated, but got through the lurchers and whippet's,without any hichups, although one of Roberts dogs decided he wanted out of the car,but wasn't waiting for someone to open the door.Instead,he made his very own opening, ant took the whole bloomin window out with him.We got the showing part over, even with a few downpours, and i think i made the right decision,(although it was very tight, between the champ, and reserve). No racing pix today either,as i was doin the lure work, and although i am beginning to know my way about a camera,im just not that gooood.Every thing was going great, till a little light brindled whippet, thought he could beat me to the mark, and xcame flying into the air, after the lure, and just as he made his teeth snap shut, about 2 inches from my face, the lure disapeared,so he grabed my hand instead.then came the whippet final, and again i beat them to the mark, but Roberts wee dog,the one who had taken a few pieces of Julie's(Hope 200)meril dogs back end off,in the simulated coursing, and then jumped through the car window.reconed he just wasn't finished yet,so sneaked round behind me,and sunk his teetyh into my calf mussle.thankfully,i was wearing a good piece og water ant thorn proof anti tear kit,so he didn't get to sink the dentures right5 in.But it bl...y hurts Robert,so buy him a bl...y muzzle mate.None of the whippet's were wearing one,and this is a bad example mate.If the organizers wont use them, then you can't expect the ordinary racers to use them mate.I was chuffed that my own pup came 2nd in the puppy racing.(Buster),as this was genuinely his 1st time to chase a lure,as he's just 9 months old today, and hadn't much of a clue.I then put him up the field on his own, just to make sure he was chasing, and not just running after the one in front, who by the way,has been racing in the pups all year.So yes,im pleased as punch.Again, sorry about no racing pix this time, but ill probibly make up for it,at Tullylish.OPP'S,sorry,Donemana,if im here, and not in Scotland. ...Billy...

Thanks Deidre for all the lovely pictures. You are a star, and of course all the well wishers with all their congratulatory messages. Silver is a great dog, Rushden Kennels and Issac should be very proud of her. Good Rushden breeding. Not forgetting Ann Forsyths bitch penny, silvers mother. Good rearing Ann. Brilliant dog. She has won us that many trophies last year and this year, we just dont have anymore room to display them in the house. We love that little animal so much,as we do with all our dogs, she has given us so much enjoyment over the last couple of years. John is still on the happy pills, as this is the biggest cup we have ever won. Unfortunately he cant fill it up with whiskey, as that little avenue of enjoyment was closed 6 years ago, but he has been drinking bottles of coke and sparkling water since the show. I dont know what the secret is but he is still getting high on them. Robert, thanks for a woderful days enjoyment, a well organised show, and to all the great people that attend, take part and support all the shows during the year, they are all a pleasure to be with. We feel very proud to be part of that community. Hope to see you all at Dunamana and Tullylish. Lovely memories Deidre

Margaret and John Mc Stay.
