Where is Sam?

I know of someone looking for a second pet whippet in Newcastle.

please ring the number on 1st post as thats where the dog is? i think he is in lincs?

Yes,Sam is in lincs.

Apparently,he was bought for an elderly couple (i think as a christmas present  ),& they can't cope with a dog,so handed him in to Fenbank.

Just spoke to Sandra, from Fenbank & she told me that Sam was neutured on Monday,he is quite a big whippet & pretty lively, but extremely happy & has been well looked after by his previous owners.

He is DESPERATE for a loving home,so hope someone gets him soon :luck:

Please ring Sandra on 01205 270166 if you're interested

Does anybody know this rescue?

I have passed on their number to a friend of a friend who already has a whippie and having just lost her Border Collie wants a second dog.

She has spoken to the rescue and thought she was waiting for them to call back re a home check and now they wont return her calls and have told her they are 'sick of cranks off the internet'. She is heart broken and it's very upsetting for him to be in kennels when there is an offer of a brilliant and experienced whippety home for him. She is a genuine person and can't understand why this has happened.

Any suggestions folks?

Sorry to here this Rae :(

But the good news is,Sam now has a new home

My friend has just spoken to the rescue again, within the last hour, they have told her yet another story (she has had they are waiting for a van, the man has to go into hospital, ring this mobile number, they are organising a home check, he has been re-homed, whippet rescue have him)

Has this dog definately got a home Debs or is this another tale from them? They admitted yesterday that he was still there and that he didnt have a home, and told me last week that they had refused 2 homes as he was too boisterous for elderly couples (fair enough)

Being accused of being a 'crank of the internet' and refusing to return phone calls, giving out non existant mobile numbers and permanently fobbing people off is no way to re-home needy dogs IMO.

If there is a problem or a reason why can't they just be honest with this poor woman?

She has now been told that whippet rescue have him (although they would not give her the number) and that she has to contact them.

She already has a whippet, is used to lively dogs, lives next to a lovely river / country walk and does not work so I cant see what the problem is.

I would not normally post information like this on a forum but they way this lady has been treated is appauling.

I sincerly hope that this poor dog isnt still in kennels and really is in a nice home.
