yes with bells on

nice to meet you also :D

:( very sad news today,

cherry attacked little libby our bichon

libby is fine but cherry has been taking to much interest in her

she has been fine with the pups, but i guess libby looks to much like a lure

so after a chat with jean she has now gone back to jean before one of them got hurt

we are very sad as she seemed to settle in so well :'( and we became very attached to her,

but safety of them all must come first :(

I'm really sorry to read this Julie. I know how much you and your dad and mum really liked Cherry. What a very hard decision to have had to make.

:( yes we are very upset by it, she got on with the other dogs but libby  is just to fluffy i think

but no harm done to anyone and she is back with jean now.

whippets are funny dogs  they do like there own kind, as lolly and gracie have come here as puppies they get on with libby and co.......as they dont no any different, so looking back trying to move in an older dog was probaly not so wise

im unsure if jean will keep her or rehome her, but just for the record, cherry was fine with the other dogs, and is extra fine with other whippets  and i look forward to watching her on the race track

Sorry it didnt work out for you all Julie - it must have been so hard to do the right thing :(

It's really sad this has happened. The Bichon was top dog until Cherry came along and Cherry wanted to be it.It's just something to put down to experience. Whippets are a bit pushy as you all know.

libby  (bichon) is so far down the pecking order, bless her.

none of our dogs really show signs of who is in charge, i always thought sophie (gsd)as she is the oldest.

but she sensed something with cherry from day one.........never done anything, just made sure cherry knew her place.

so we let sophie go and stay with a friend to see if we could resolve the situation, as we didnt want to part with cherry, but all the dogs need to be happy.

within hours of sophie going cherry had ago at libby (bichon) so sophie infact had been keeping a lid on things, well we tried again the next day but cherry had decided that libby was public enemy number 1

and libby was worried to death  , so thats no good for anyone, even with sophie home it would only be a matter of time before something terrible happened  .

atleast we know we tried every which way to make it work

sophie is back home :huggles: and happiness is restored in the peppermint camp

and i now know to trust sophies judgement, the dog knows best (w00t)

thankyou all for you kind posts

Like you said you tried each way to make it work. It didnt work this time now you have to put it all behiind you and get those little puppies running. I want to know what weight groups they'll be in eventually so we Northerners know what we are up against (w00t)
