My computer monitor died an ignoble death and could not be resurrected so I have had to go shopping -- something I never like to do -- and get a new one. It is only within this past hour for the first time in a couple of days that I can sign in and see the screen without it fading to black.Boxing Helena said:Hi Lanny, no wonder you are proud !! especially because Rogue is already the second champion out of this litter ( and this at 16 months !) Congratulations
Thank you all for such nice comments. I would also like to congratulate Hendrik on his wonderful win because I know just how tough wins in FCI countries come and how valuable they are to breeders.
We are very proud of our Rogue and his litter sister Summer. They are very nice well balanced dogs and I am happy judges saw enough in them to make them up.
Now we are starting to watch the show career unfold of their half brother - Avalonia Trick or Treat who made his show debut yesterday and now has 2 points towards his Cdn.Ch. title. Tricky is a blue fawn brindle and white son of Ceely out of another of one of our boys --Ch. Avalonia Wotta Jesta (Eng.Ch. Nevedith Justa Jesta is his sire). We never know when we take a very English style whippet, with an English breed standard size to go with it (Tricky is 19.5 inches tall) and show the dog in Canada or America, whether the dog will be thrown out because it is perceived as being too small. The male dogs he was competing against were at least one or two inches taller than him, and longer in body too, and so it is particularly rewarding when judges see the dog and know the standard enough to recognize what they are seeing.
I am horrified to see the awful weather you are having in England... and I think especially of Helen and others who live in the area of Gloucester and other friends in Bedfordshire who I know are near the Greater Ouse River and imperilled because they live close to the river in the Turvey/Harrald/Carlton area which I have seen in flood mode several times in the past 10 or 15 years. I do hope all of you, and all your dogs, are safe. The photos on the television news here on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation are frankly just horrifying.
