He's found a friend! (although the grey-face doesn't look too sure yet!)

Isn't he just gorgeous - can't get over just how little he is compared with the others. You'll have to send in weekly pics, he'll be growing at such a rate. And I bet he's going to be a proper little monkey from the looks of him.

He's a stunner. Congrats.

Love that 4th picture in the first batch, of him casually strolling in the opposite direction :- " You can almost hear him saying..

'I'm not going to lower myself and beg...'

AWWWWWWWWWWWW he is absolutely GORGEOUS

Aw, he's lovely sprout

Who was the breeder? Just being nosey, wondering if I had seen many of the adults other than the photos of your Darcy.

All your dogs looked cracking in the photos BTW.

lucky you! I loved seeing photos of Darcy, to see a puppy is even more lovely!

what made you go for another dog? and are you going to show him?

he is adorable, I am so jealous :D

Bappit - the breeder is Kay Barret (Stranwith Deerhounds) :))

Doris - we weren't looking for another dog at all (and certainly not a puppy) but Kay phoned to say that she had a litter and there were 6 males. She knows that my hubby has always been interested in a male and we'd asked her to let us know in the future if she had a litter and there were suitable males for us (as in suitably laid back/middle of the road type pup, as needed for this rather busy household!). When we lost Maddison at 4 years old in July, it hit us very hard and he left a big gap. Seven out of ten of our dogs are 10+ so when we were offered a pup (the first available since Darcy's litter three years ago) we decided to go ahead. This morning, as Duffy is charging around (and has been since 7.30) I mayyy be wondering why we made that choice  (w00t)

We're not going to be showing him - he's just going to be a pet

He's lovely on those pic's  - my OH's always fancied a deerhound

HE'S ABSOLUTALY GORGEOUS GLAD TO SEE IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S FOUND A FRIEND BUT I WOULD THINK HE'LL SOON HAVE LOTS MORE

Wow sprout  Stranwiths' are nice line. Always recommend Kay's book "Living with Deerhounds" when anyone expresses an interest in the breed.

Met a lovely lady yesterday who told me how desperate she was for a Deerhound puppy...on the deerhound club list etc, but nothing for her as yet - did'nt dare mention to have a look on here to see your lovely baby, she'd have been green with envy. Sure something will turn up for her soon - did warn her they catch the heart in a big way...and one tends not to be enough!

Must be mad myself as taking on another youngin in about a months time (though will be 7 months old by then - puppy still, just a big one!).

Keep posting pics please, always amazing to see how quickly they develop

Hello 'little' Duffy

I do agree he is very nice, but what really made my day was seeing the lovely Sprout

I'm pleased for you, he looks like he will fill that gap perfectly and make a great 'just a pet' dog!

I'm quite jealous too - Kay Barret you said? perhaps I should remember that name . . . ? :- "

Me too - Duffy is too gorgeous for words  :huggles:

One day, I will have my deerhound :huggles: ............................... but a long time in the future methinks :(

Lucky dog coming to live in your lovely family.

Isn't he lovely, it seems no time since my Ornish was that size, and now he is a greatbig fellow and really enjoying galloping in the stubble fields, it will be his first birthday next weekend too. He has lots of whippet friends , but cannot run with them till he learns that they are not for picking up! I do not like holes in my whippets!
