Well buster was left on his own for an hour today and he was good as gold! we are so pleased with him, he really is an affectionate lil dog, with humans that is! hes not too bad our budgie but we tell him with a firm NO and he leaves it alone even though the bird walks around the floor! But he is not hot with other dogs, im just wondering if, with him only being 18 months we could get him to socialise a bit with other dogs?

awww buster looks gorg

good luck wib him :luck: :huggles: :luck:

That is wonderful news - CONGRATULATIONS - look forward to seeing the pics and good luck :luck: with your new addition :huggles:

glad he's settled in :)

i guess it would be a idea, to get him around other dogs a bit more..maybe you could take him to a training class and brush up on his training at the same time

good luck, he sounds lovely :huggles:

:) Pleased all is going so well for you. Perhaps, as Hely suggested, some training classes which are great for socialising, or a friend with a nice reliable dog so that he can get his confidence making friends? :luck: :luck: :luck:

What lucky peeps you are! a new dog soooooooooo exciting

:luck: good luck in your forever home Buster

Well buster has met a couple of dogs on his walk, he drags all the way to em up on his hind legs. The first we met were two border collies who are very well trained, they just sat and watched him past. The owner was asking about buster and while we talked buster sat calmly.

The second dog we met was a cross breed but a big dog on a stretchy lead, again buster was draggin towards the dog, and the stupid woman let it run up to him, and they came nose to nose and buster growled. The woman went oooo nasty so i was really annoyed!!! I have looked up training in the town near me but they aren't running just yet. Do you all think that i should muzzel him when we do start goin just to be on safe side?

is that the only dog buster has growled at???

unless he is really aggressive with other dogs and has attacked, i wouldnt muzzle him, thats just my opinion mind you

Yep, and today on his afternoon walk we met a muzzled and rather scary dog agressive golden retriever and all he did was pull toward it but i just pulled him back away and he walked on. So it could be that im worrying about nothing and hes just being inquisitive? our old dog was dog agressive but we just accepted that as we thought he would be too old to train (he was ok with the laydees tho! :- " ) Whereas with buster being young we would prefer him to be able to get along with other dogs.
